  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

How often do you Clean anything?

I keep my place in relatively good condition daily... however, as for cleaning (like with 409, etc) that happens at minimum everyone weekend. My room is the only place that gets "unacceptable" in my opinion. And that's just because I have an tendency to toss my clothes on the floor.

Our house usually stays clean but saturday is our day to really clean and do laundry and sweep and mop. and stuff like that. If you take 5 minutes everyday to pick up after yourself there is a lot less to clean at the end of the week.

What is the going rate?](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

$15 an hour for a three-hour minimum. At least that's what I charged when I was cleaning houses for a living, and I would then make slight adjustments if a house took more or less time to clean. Depending on the size of your house, and whether or not you have had regular cleaning service, it may take considerably longer. For instance, ovens and fridges add an hour each. I was very good at my job, made great money ($450/week under the table shhhhh) and wrote my own schedule. It was those damned republicans with their nice houses that were already clean when I came that got me so damned depressed.

I generally clean just once a week. The only thing that piles up is the mail which is annoying. I hate going through it.

On the weekends I vacuum

and clean the bathroom and tidy up, etc.

I do my laundry on the weekends also.

I do my dishes twice a week.

And I wash my windows once a year if I'm lucky.

That's the way I think as well.
I just cleaned my floor for the first time in ages.
How often I clean is..not as often as I should.

I hardly ever do any housework because I live alone and don't have to. If I had to clean up for an unexpected reason I could get everything shiny in a couple of hours or so.

Hmm...

The carpets and the bathrooms are the two things I'm
kinda obsessed with.

I can't stand pet hair or anything else on the carpet, so I vacuum
at least once a day.

Mildew and soap scum bothers me, too. At least once a week the
bathrooms are scrubbed from top to bottom.

I try to do the little stuff every day....like dishes, putting out the trash, etc. But the major stuff is cleaned up by my cleaners every 2 weeks. I cannot take care of everything by myself. I just don't have the time.

As for the garden, it normally takes care of itself, except for taking the robot lawnmower out when the lawn needs it and trimming, planting and weeding a few times a year.

I am amazed how dedicated so many JUBBers are to house work. They must be gay !!!:p

I'm a frightful slob. Though I am personally immaculate, and can't bear to have dirt or odors on my body or clothing, I am contextually quite filthy.

I hate cleaning, and so I put it off until something smells... and sometimes long after that (what do you think scented candles are for?) And when I do clean, I am not particularly thorough... my motto is "if it don't get seen, it don't get clean." I do my laundry maybe once a month, though I will often put it off so long that I have to buy new underwear to put wash-day off a little while longer. I'll only do the dishes if the Grandmother is sick, and I only vacuum or dust when we have company coming.

I clean the bathroom rather more frequently, now that I have a turtle... I have to clean the sink and tub after I clean the turtle's bowl (aquatic turtles can carry salmonella, and I'm not taking chances), for which I use Scrubbing Bubbles (spray on, leave sit, rinse off... so easy), and it's very easy to spritz the toilet at the same time.

It's something I'm going to have to get over if I ever intend to cohabit with another person. See, I think it would be great if I could meet one of you neat-freaks to live with, I'd keep you nice and busy and give you a wonderful outlet for your tidiness; but I have found that neat-freaks insist on everyone else being neat, too... and are therefore sadly disinterested in cleaning up after people like me.

Ah, well.

I clean everyday...I'm anal....I hate being in a dirty house. It's my OGT...

(obvious gay trait)....

Your Windex bottle is on the top shelf in your closet across from your computer, Elvin....

In case you're looking for it. ;)

I like mess. I know where everything is.
If I clean up (major) and move things around, I forget where they are, and cannot find them, because they are tidied away; thus causing me problems. #-o

i try to keep everything nice and clean but once3 a week i will give everything a thourough clean

Oh My.

I'm always curoius on how often others clean/tidy up. I'm not sure if it's the stalker in me, but I just find it...fasinating.

I tend to clean every day, with a little lit vacuming, dusting, wiping down of surfaces, and disinfection of any important objects like phones, door handles, and computer mouses.

Now, it's your turn:

Fess up! I wanna hear all the icky, nasty details.

Monica, is that you?

I keep the kitchen, living room, bathroom picked up all the time, considering I might have someone over that could possibly go into those rooms. My bedroom on the other hand...maybe once a month? It never really gets dirty, clothes on the floor and such that I toss into the hamper ever day or two but that's about it, and I wash my sheets/pillows/comforter once a week or close to that.
