Not so much with family but i say it to my partner everyday . We even text back and forth . Sometimes I will text him hot dick pic along with it . This is after 12 years of being together.

I tell my partner every day, several times a day, it just comes out bursting out of me almost uncontrollable, I call it a "love attack". My family never said it to one another, but my family was beyond messed up! Now-a-days, my partner's family is more like a family to me and they have no hesitation whatsoever in telling me they love me, so I have gotten more comfortable with saying it back.

Me at least 2-3x's a day---my honey bout 4-6x's a day.

we also say goodnight and good morning to each other every day.

That's just a small part of what keeps our 26yr+ partnership together...

i say it to my mom and dad all the time.

don't really say it to my two brothers but its understood.

i have a few friends i do say it to.

but i don't have nor have i ever had, a significant other and i've never actually said it to someone in that context.

Say it to my boyfriend every day, to my mother and to a couple of my close friends when saying goodbye.

I really like the threads you make, NaughtyArousal.

Generally, I don't say it to my family. If one of them is going through a tough time, I will let them know that I'm here and that I love them, but it doesn't feel natural to say it to them on a daily basis. My family and I are not particularly close, but they know that I love them, and they know that when I say it, I'm putting my heart into it, and that I'm genuinely reaching out to them. I think, that way, it's special when I say it, and it has more of an impact on them, and can really be uplifting in their time of need. It reminds them that even though we may not be very close, that I still love them with all of my heart and would do anything for them.

Out of my friends, I only say it to one, and he is straight. We have an amazingly close friendship. Sometimes, mid conversation, one of us will just say "I fucking love you man".
We have the type of friendship where we call or text each other as soon as something noteworthy happens during the day, and if one of us is going through something, we talk to each other about it first. We know everything about each other. His girlfriend gets angry and jealous because he's always calling and texting me, and always coming to me with his problems . She always jokes that he's going to dump her, and that he and I are going to run away together.

Unfortunately, on Thursday, he moved to New York. I miss him like crazy already, it feels like there's a gaping hole in my life. We're of course staying in contact, but it's not the same. :(

How often do you say it to your family? (and which family members?)

How often do you say it to your friends? (Is there a difference in male/female friends or among straight/gay friends?)

How often do you say it to your significant other?

Only when I mean it and when it's appropriate for family. If I went around saying it to fam all the time they'd probably think I was nuts. So used sparingly on them. With a lover, usually when the mood is right. There's no set time.

I only show the people I love how much I love them, but never say I love You to anyone, not even my mom and dad.

For me I always have a rule of thumb about saying "I Love You". I always say it to everybody that means something to me, because I don't know what tomorrow could bring. I always say I love you to my partners, even during fights lol

to my my parents, sister and my bf, at least once a day,if not more.

to my family all the time

friends- i can love a person but its not like saying im in love with you

my other- i wont say it unless i mean it. i have only sead it to two people so far

I grew up in a strict, conservative South Asian family and with many Asian friends so saying "I love you" is well... hardly said.

Whenever I want to tell my parents I love them, I studied real hard and scored an A for a test and showed it to them. A quick pat on the shoulders and awkward "well done"s are said. Love right there.

Now I am more open with my feelings with my parents. We are making eye contact, yeah!

Just told both of my best friends I loved them last night.

Haven't said it to my family since I came back from my vacation.

Don't have a boyfriend.

out of 850 facebook friends...there are 11 (the circle) who hear it every time I talk to them. (usually between every day and every three days that I talk to them).

My mother - every day.

The only EX I love/and who loves me- at least twice a week.

other than that...there are no "I love You" statements.

To my mum about once a week. My best friends know I love them, I think it would just be cheesy to say it, although when we get to drinking it gets said a lot more often :P

Almost never but there is a justification of course. Why bother saying "I love you" when I can show them that I love them. People who tend to say "those 3 words" repeatedly, after a while loses meaning.
