Ever since the SARS scare a couple of years ago, I carry those little bottles of Purell in all my jackets. I also carry one in my work pants. I work at an airport, and constantly wash my hands. People put their boarding cards in their mouth and then hand the card to you, certain races pick their nose quite frequently, then other will sneeze and cough and then you handle their tickets, etc.. or when people go to the washroom and don't wash their hands.. those little bottles sure come in handy...

I keep the Purell on hand as well. Shopping cart handles carry a lot of germs. I wash my hands as many times a day as I think is necessary. However, I don't get all "Joan Crawford" about my hands.

Thanx for the reminder.

Yeah, i've become a pretty strict post-bathroom hand-washer.

I work with pesticides for a living, so I wash my hands quite frequently. I keep the Purel on hand also.

Just once when I get home from work. I'm not afraid of no stinkin' germs.

I don't use antibacterial soaps and cleaners because they kill the good bacteria as well. I just use all natural soaps. I don't worry about germs too much because the body does have a natural self defense system as long as you don't damage it with things like antibacterial soaps, smoking, drugs, eating a lot of junk food, etc. I still end up washing freuently....not out of fear....just a habit. :)

I wash my hands when I'm done using the bathroom, and I wash my hands when I'm about to eat.

after the bathroom, before meals and whenever they feel icky

never thought to count how often

I work at the airport too and wash about every 30 mins or so during the day (just regular soap) or when I touch a bag or something that just doesnt look/feel right. Sometimes you help someone and just need to go wash immediately.
Tickets in the mouth are the WORST! You almost want to lick the boarding card and hand it back to them.... ;)

Constantly - always before a meal, when leaving a washroom and as soon as I arrive at work. I use public transit and those buses are full of germs.

People who don't wash after using a toilet disgust me

All the time. Love that ADD. Definitely before I eat and after I use the restroom.

Me too. I wash after using the bathroom, before cooking and whenever there's something sticky on my hands.

i'm actually somewhat germaphobic... i wash my hands frequently though generally unnoticeably odd...maybe once an hour except at work and depending on what i'm doing at home... if i get the feeling of being dirty i could scrub for a bit... longest i have ever gone for scrubbing was 15 minutes... longest without.... probably 3 hours....

Always before the consumption of any food. Always after any trip to the toilet. Consistantly when I am cooking. I never use the hand sanitizer though. I can't stand the smell.

"Out, out damned spot, out, I say
What? Will these hands ne'er be clean?"

Sorry if it doesn't scan - just quoting from memory...

I'm really lax on the hand washing thing - though I rarely get sick. My grandmother is a germaphobic and she used to make me wash my hands all the time when I was at her house - nowadays I don't think to do it regularly. I always wash them after using the restroom, though.

I'm guessing five or six times daily. As a result, I always have to keep hand lotion because my skin dries out pretty quick.

When they are dirty, before cooking, after handling potentially infected stuff but never use anti bacterial anything at any time. I am a great fan of my bodies immune system, I've only once been sick that my body couldn't sort out and that was accute appendicitis. Fortunately my parents were of a generation before the sterile, protect the kids from everything including themselves society of today. So I got to do what babies are supposed to and put all sorts of dirty things in my mouth and built up a good immune system. Thanks Mum & Dad
