It won't ever be perfect. Perfect is not attainable in this world.

Probably be less awkward if neither of you know what you are doing.

If I had your looks, and personality I'd have luck. Heck, I'd even win the lottery!:D

Which I don't see too much of a problem with (as long as you're safe) after the first time. But I just couldn't imagine myself losing my virginity to anyone but a guy I loved. *shrugs*

But at what rate do you measure love? How long will you date before you have sex? I don't believe 'love' is independently quantifiable.

No, I don't believe it's measurable either. From what people tell me, you know when you know. And I guess if you feel the time's right, then you go for it. I wouldn't be rushing into anything once I got into a relationship.
 
I think I was 21 at the time. I'm glad I lost it to the guy I lost it to. No regrets. :)
