How The Democrats Could Lose

^^ Excellent post. ..|

The only thing I would add is that given that this was supposed to be the dems yr should they loose it'll be a long time before you see a minority heading the ticket.

We'll see them in the #2 spot before the top spot again.

Actually there is considerable Democratic support between Philly and Pittsburgh. The city of Lancaster, for instance, surrounded by uber conservative Amish and Mennonite farmers, is the sixth largest Democratic vote in the state.

The real battle will be in the suburbs which can negate the large plurality coming out of Philly. Many of the suburbs are upscale Obama country and many are middle/working class Clinton country. Should be interesting.

You listen to too much Rush. Anyone who is basing a dem loss on just a woman or color issue is being very short sighted on the election.

I don't listen to Rush and I didn't say anything about gender or color. Who's post are you reading?

I don't think that race or color would have been a determining factor in the election, both tend to offset each other by voters that consider them a positive. However, since race and gender have become a major factor in the primaries, that may no longer be true. I blame Obama for using both race and gender in a negative way. Regardless, they have become a problem.

I'd like to see some evidence about the Republicans secretely funding white supremest groups. Share it with us all, I'd enjoy reading it!
BTW, welcome!

The Republicans are a white supremest group.

Of course they are. dear. And the dims are now the party of black racism, thanks to Jeremiah Wright, Senator Obama's spiritual advisor.

The Dems could lose by doing what Dems do all so well......fight like hell.

Look at the Democratic Congress since midterm. They can't do shit.

Um, okay. Whatever, back to reality. I think it could have been a cakewalk until Clinton went so negative. She has not only smeared and damaged Obama, but the whole party. And if she ends up stealing the nom, she has divided the party so badly that she will lose the general election. Tell me how many black people and those new Obama voters are going to even vote(let alone for her) if she pulls what is needed to overtake Obama's delegate lead by conning the superdelegates to give it to her. I still have confidence they won't, but in the mean time she is saying such devastating things about him that he may be too damaged to even win.

Hey!

Let's not forget that Bush 41 didn't just pull Willy Horton out of his ass during the 1988 Presidential Election.

It was Democratic Tennessee Senator Al Gore, running against Democratic Governor Micheal Dukakis, during the 1988 Democratic Primaries that helped to give Reagan's VP the win! ..|

As Forrest Gump liked to quote his Mother; "Stupid is, as stupid does."

Even some of the "Editorial Cartoonist" are beginning to notice:

The Obama campaign strategy has always been to make Clinton unelectable. The charges that the Clintons were using racism, that "she will do anything, say anything to get elected", the attacks on judgement based on her Iraq vote, the Obama campaign urging the press to look at Bill's extracurricular post Presidential activities, Obama's diminishing of the Clinton years and the reminders of the controversies of the 90's and the attempt to blame them on the Clintons, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Don't blame Hillary for something that has been a tactic of the Obama campaign from the beginning.

^^ iman even if I agreed with you do you actually believe the republicans would not have brought all that up in the general?

If the Clinton's wish to escape their past running for the presidency is an odd way of doing it.

I think the Republicans will bring it all up and more for either candidate. Blaming the Clinton campaign for aiding the Republicans is disingenuous. Actually a case could be made that it is best to deal with these issues now, before the General.

I do object to the attacks that would be unique to the Obama camp - the racism charges and the questioning of Clinton's judgement based on the Iraq vote.

Some of us are genuinely upset by Clinton's votes on Iraq and Iran and are displeased by her racial attacks on a promising African American candidate. I don't think it is unreasonable for me to expect her to earn my vote whether in the primary or November.

^She has made no racial attacks on Obama. The playing of the race card has come, repeatedly, from the Obama camp who have been labeling any criticism of Obama as racist.

Going back to the begining of this thread: I would have to agree that nominating Obama or Clinton seems the surest way to lose this race. I say that not to be funny but simply because as this debacle goes on the dems make themselves more and more vulnerable. They are doing all of the research against one another AND whats more they are focusing it in areas that will turn Dems.

As far as troops, they may move in theater but they are not coming home anytime soon. Bush said he would not lower levels until it was apparent that security would last. He will do so. You can hate the man but when he says he will do something you can bet he will stay with it till the end.

Maybe if Obama can't recover from this Rev. Wright thing he can give his delegates to John Edwards. That'd catch the Repubs off guard.
