How to make your house smell great?

I buy the bottles of scents with the reed defusers ... they last just about three months and keep the house smelling GREAT ...
If I need a little extra ; I put a few drops of scented essential oil into a burner on hot stones ....

I love incense. Good quality incense makes a house smell great!

And if it's vanilla... it's heavenly! ..|

mee too

i use incense all over the house - I buy a variety of stick incense each year at the Congo Market at the New Orleans Jazz Festival ... stuff from all over the world....I love the lingering aromas from incense....

I use incense in my house because it reminds me of the time when I was an altar boy in my catholic church, before I became a lapsed catholic.
I purchaed a thurible, a sort of perforated brass pot, with long chains to enable me to swing it. I light some charcoal and pour on the incense in the thurible and I go to each room swinging my thurible, and the divine smelling smoke exits thru the holes in the thurible.
I like to have a friend with me so that we can take turns in swinging the thurible, wow, we have a great time, but if we overdo it and we feel that we are both suffocating wo both have to run into the garden for some fresh air.

Bake chocolate chip cookies for the aroma, and then you can mail the cookies to me. Feel free to add Macadamia nuts, if you like...LOL

You can buy natural citrus air freshener in a spray. It costs more than the Glade type stuff, but a teeny spray works really well for a quick burst of freshness.

A drop of your favorite cologne on a light bulb; the scented warmers by "Airwick" in most of the rooms of the house. My favorite is buring candles. After a long day at work, I usually light a few candles in the house to help me relax. Here's an easy recipe for a simmering pot - 4 oranges peels and three sticks of cinnamon with a cup of water. Change every 2 to 3 days. For Christmas - 16 cloves; 1 1/2 teaspoons of "All Spice"; 3 sticks of cinnamon. Store in container for a few days and then add a quart of water and simmer.

I used those timed spray can things of airwick, they come in multiple scents and can be set for like 8, 16, 32 minutes i think (or off). ;)

A few drops of vanilla in water and heat in the microwave ?

A little academic for us as our house is always wide open to the breezes - windows are always open and when we are home both ends of the house open completely to let the tropical air through. I plant perfumed plants in the garden so the breezes will waft the scent through the house.
:D

I tried the scented liquid in the simmering pot and it works great.. any other suggestions.. ps.. i made the FIRST POST AND TOPIC!!!
