How to meet guys on campus?

I was in the same situation last year. I've met a few guys at my college online (craigslist, gay.com, etc) and there is always facebook. If you do not attend a large school though, I imagine this would be harder.

The easiest method would probably be parties. Look on facebook for what parties gay guys are attending (typically there will be other gay guys there, but usually not exclusively like the club type events).
 
A very good start would be to honestly define your goal.

A) You want to primarily shoot the breeze and socialize with other gay dudes?

Try a gay sports club, gay male choir, gay drama group (is there a str8 one?) or something along those lines. Sure, one thing may lead to another, but that's neither here nor there. You want to socialize and you do that there.

B) You want to get your rocks off

A gay club, bar, spa, cruising area, etc., would do. No need to waste your time on shooting the breeze. You want sex. Go there and get it.

C) You want a regular buddy, possibly a boyfriend?

Go to all the web sites, Craig's, etc., and start searching. It will take loads of time and energy but you will get there, too.

Obviously, you can find Mr. Right or even Mr. Right Now just about everywhere. You can also win millions of $$$, if you play lottery, too.

But, life is really about gauging your odds and acting accordingly.

I'd be the last man here to suggest that life is not full of surprises and that the good things do not happen unexpectedly. They sure do.

Yet, you want to give your best try each and every time and leave it at that. This is all you can do and this is where you stop and the chance and the other dudes step in.

My advice: Lots of people will tell you to network through your friends, etc. Not a bad idea either. Yet, I have grown to be very suspicious of guys, who cannot quite sort out their lives on their own.

So, if someone is going 'to arrange' something for you, take it with a proverbial pinch of salt. Dudes, who need other dudes to promote them are usually having issues...

If it comes naturally, without plotting and planning, the chances are, you'll be better off taking that avenue...

I joined the GSA type thing at my college... although there are a lot more lesbians their... I guess try that and go from there.
 
Try the library bathrooms. Just kidding...a little. I wouldn't recommend craigslist, too many fake people on there. What I did Freshmen year was I found out where the gay club at my school was and the time they met. I waited outside the room where the meeting was and waited for them to get out. Then found someone cute/hot that walked out and then acted like a clueless Freshmen and asked him if he knew where this building was. He said he could show me since he was going in that direction anyway. Use your imagination to complete the rest of the story ;)

I know exactly why something like this would frustrate you. I'm a Freshmen in college this year, and I have -no- idea where to start looking for any possible gay people on campus. I mean, I know there have to be some - but even if and when I do find them, am I gonna like any of 'em? Would any of them be my type?

I guess you should just take the advice that people have been giving you so far: join up with the sites, check facebook, look into any gay clubs or communities on campus, and go from there. If you don't find any that you like (or any at all, for that matter) then try looking possibly around towns, cities, or areas just outside your campus. While it might be a hassle, you'll be meeting people, which is better than where your at now.

There are maybe 10 active members in the GLBTA at my university. I'm like 1/3 or 1/4 of the guys, the rest are women. Maybe it's big for certain colleges, but not where I go.

You can meet guys through other guys, I've made gay friends who have then introduced me to their gay friends... just make connections.
 
Yeah, gay clubs on most smaller campuses are not a good way to meet guys. The facebook thing (e.g. checking men interested in men) can be good but at the same time, you usually get closeted guys just wanting to hook up (just like CL) and that probably is not what you are looking for. Unless you go to a big college or in a large city, it will be quite difficult to find some gays guys.
 
There's actually a good number of gay guys that go where I go, they just don't show up to the GLBTA. Most of them use reasons like, "I'm too caught up in other things," or they mention how they don't like how people perceive the GLBTA. I'm sorry, but if the GLBTA is perceived as a bad thing by people, I really don't think it's the club that they're irritated with as much as the fact that there are gays on campus.
 
When I was a Freshmen in college, I didn't have to look very far. As it turned out, most of the guys I made friends with were gay, although I didn't know it at the time. Most of the rest were bisexual and wanted to have sex with me, but I was not interested. If you tell a guy that you like that you are gay, there is a good chance they will be gay or bi as well - at least from my college experience. For some reason, the friends I had thought this meant that I was available, although that was not my reason for telling them.

Anyone who is your friend by now quite possibly has an idea that you are gay and may just be waiting for you to tell them.
