think about the bacteria that you can spread. If you are shaving your ass, think about any shit remnants that you might have accidentally missed by chance, then being transferred to the cuts that end up on your facial skin (that you usually cant see) when you shave.

Even if you don't bleed, you will still usually cut into your skin if you shave close, even if you didn't, would you want to risk it?

The fancy shaving stuff is for my face, I like to indulge though I was trying to make a point that you don't need anything special and shouldn't use anything special on your nether-regions.

Depending on how often you shave them, change to a new disposable razor every week (if rinsed and kept dry inbetween) or every second shave...

wash in warm water to remove dead skin, bacteria etc, and to soften the hair. Shaving cream reduces the irritation of metal blade on flesh, so feel free to buy some (a can of foamy is what... $2?)

haha no worries. Thanks for the help. I'm gonna try shaving my balls soon. What would you recommend I use for my ass to get rid of all the hair? All I have is my electric razor for my face but I don't know how sanitary that is or if it even works that well. I don't wanna buy a new trimmer either if I don't need to.

I wouldn't be the best to give advice on that.

I don't do it because it causes me irritation. Nair for sensitive areas would probably be the best though, or waxing.

If your electric shaver is waterproof (mine is), I would lather up and clean yourself down there a few times first, then shave. If it isn't, I would suggest using scissors to trim as much as possible, and to use the electric trimmer as a finishing tool.

Unless you have ball-hair as thick as your face, it won't take many passes to actually remove it off your sack, 2 blades going over your skin will irritate less than the modern 5 blade razors (I would go into it, but I would end up blabbering fake razor science). Plus they are cheap for disposable 2-blades. Just make sure to 'prep' them first, warm shower, clean them, spend at least 5 minutes with water on you before lathering up for a shave. pull the skin tight and shave (you wont cut yourself at all if you pull the skin tight, trust me)

This is similar to what I shaved with this morning (WWII era twist to open gillette and Derby stainless blade / badger hair brush / cella shave soap / witch hazel rinse / bay rum)

I tend to like the illustrated group of tools that ChrisW87 suggests. I have a partner, and this is a task we do for each other, and the nice thing about that, is it usually leads to some love making. But the view is not as important, I believe as finding someone who you are comfortable with, and who is willing to do the job for you. Make it into a really fun occasion.

Then you will be looking forward to future shavings, and fun times. Hope it works out for you.

This discussion was quite interesting to me as well cause I want to trim my pubic hair as well and shave balls.

My questions are 2:

1) Is the hair trimmer very different from the hair trimmer? Cause predominantly I see hair trimmers on the offer.
2) How to trim/shave the ass? Can it be done by yourself?

And you could add some videos if you find them. Would be very nice :-p Educating and hot at the same time...

In New Zealand here, body hair trimmers are known as beard trimmers (ie what guys use to trim beards). They work really well for shaving your whole genital and ass area because, as others have mentioned, you don't get the rash or the coarse stubble, and they can give you a fairly close shave (although I have never done a total shave job myself). May be a bit more expensive, but its a one off purchase and it would last years and years. I agree about waiting to see if the other guy likes smooth and shaved and then getting him to do it for you if he does. Not only will he do a better job, because lets face it, you wont be able to see half the area yourself, but it would be hotter.
 
I agree with you guys! Trimming is the way to go, keeps the skin nice and clear, soft and no grow back.

Yes, easiest way I've found is to get a handheld mirror and set it on something like a stool or the toilet, and then squat over it. Makes it really easy.

I nicked myself with this -.-

I just use a disposable razor and shaving cream. Don't use the razor you shave with your face on your ass or cock. First take a hot/warm shower/bath. Then start shaving.

After shaving, use lotion with aloe in it. Continue putting the lotion in the areas you shaved every few hours. Wear loose underwear such as boxers.
