My comp keeps leaking memory and everytime I delete something it keeps taking that free space up. Like I had 2 GB left so I deleted some stuff and had 10 GB but now I checked it this morning and I have 1 GB left! What is going on? I have disk defragmented already is it my backup files on my H Drive?

Is it memory (RAM) or hard drive space?

I mean hard disk space lol

I have 2GB of memory

And my hard disk space keeps going down

Sometimes, depending on your operating system. If its Windows the system restore can take up a good 20GB of hard drive space from all kinds of restore points and that builds up and builds up. But its always good to keep your system restore points but if they are causing you to run low on hard drive space then it would be best to clean it out.

Its kind of a dangerous process because you never know when you might need a couple of system restore points.

What version of Windows are you running?

Keep a couple of the oldest system restore points if possible.

This sounds like a worm, not some innocent system process. Worms multiply across any available space, so just deleting files doesn't fix it. You need a special tool (or some antivirus program) to remove the worm.

Just speaking from a terrible experience years ago where no matter how much I deleted, the worm kept consuming my hard drive. Ran a specialised tool for that worm, and it was gone. I'd recommend you grab something like Avast or Avira Antivirus and see if it finds anything.

But does AVAST usually pick up worms? I thought it only picks up trojans. It could be a worm but then again I remember when Windows ME had issues with eating up hard drive space.

It's windows vista home edition. I have spyware doctor will that remove the worm?

Ok I did a hard drive search and my temporary internet files are taking up 33 GB! And for some reason I can't access the temporary internet folder?? Wtf?? Im seeing all these .tmp files but I can't get to them
