How Well Do You Identify Within Your Generation?

Is there some cult group we can join where you take an oath to never buy anything from amazon.
Never have, never will.

"I wonder about the VCR I have now. I can't use it--the "TV" is a computer monitor, which doens't have anlaog connections but does have HDMI like my DVD player"

Amazon has, for like $20 or so, magic boxes that take the red. yellow, and white outputs and convert to HDMI. I'm sure you can find the same on eBay.

On Amazon, look for "rca to hdmi adapter". Lots of choices. You can do the same on eBay but Amazon's search works better for me.

^Valid point.

I'm lucky in that my day to day needs are met with local shopping.

And I'm well aware that the companies I deal with locally probably are not ones I'd like to support in an ideal world. If I ever get super rich, I'll start doing all my shopping at farmer's markets, small local businesses, etc. But until then, reality dictates that I routinely shop at big grocery stores, big box retailers, etc.

I rarely use "true" Amazon and don't shop at their supermarkets (not even Whole Foods). But Amazon Marketplace is where independents and entrepreneurs sell, and I use that gladly. I'd never find these vendors otherwise.

Thanks--although I messed up. It's DVI ports I'm dealing with. I got--again!--DVI mixed up with HDMI. Although it would be interesting to check later to see if such a convertor exists for DVI.

I keep thinking of getting a real TV, which could solve the problem... But it's been low priority.

If I get super rich I'm going to have a half dozen Bel Ami boys peeling grapes for me as I lay in the sun. On my 50 or 60 foot SeaRay Sundancer. I can dream.
