Dont these schools have sponsors and shit? A LOT of *celebs went to Howard-- Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett, Thurgood Marshall, Zota Neal Hurtson, Phylisia fucking Rashad and that cum guzzler Sean Papa Diddy P Pop Combs or whatever she callin herself these days. Startin to feel like maybe some of the faculty or owners are reading this article... sitting on their golden toilet with a bejeweled robe and a crown on wondering if they need to start cooking the books.

Jasmine Joof said she has been sick with congestion, coughing and headaches for several weeks after discovering the mold growing in her Howard University dorm caused an allergic reaction.

*not "celebs" like Kim Kardashian, Marshall is a civil rights hero, Allen, Rashad, Bassett, Boseman, hese names ruming bells in Hollywood. These people who got honorary doctorates and shit. Granted, some from a last era, but at fancy restaurants they'd get held up at the door and a more cultured employee would walk up like "Yo dont you know who this is?!"

This isn't fabulous yall.

Oh fuck that I'd want that University to find me other proper accommodations not a fucking tent in 47 degree weather?! And if that isn't the case then they'd be talking to my lawyer!

That's America for ya. I bet if the students, like any tenant, missed a payment they'd be suspended or whatever immediately. But the school has unsafe conditions and there's probably years of red tape to get through before the problem is fixed.

Howard University has the largest endowment of any of the "Historically Black College and Universities" at $712 million -

There is no reason for the facilities to be in that condition other than improper management.

Somebody got $711.5 million dollars in their pocket.

For a moment I thought the thread was about Harvard University, then I put my glasses on. I've never heard of Howard University before, but I assume it's a commercial undertaking, so the answer presumably has to be not to pay and to go elsewhere. Even if the affected students had their hearts set on an HBCU, there must be tent-less alternatives.

That's awful.

I've seen the Howard campus. There's lots of construction nearby at the former Walter Reed site. I bet that drove the mice away...and to the campus.

My personal connections to Howard University are a stretch...one of my favorite college professors got his Ph.D. from Howard, and I listen to WHUR, the university radio station, when I'm in the area.

HBCUs are like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Seemed like an awesome idea at the start, and there were moments that edged on excellence, but ultimately its a crap show. Theyre just as bureaucratic as regular schools with infinitely less funding and RAGING homophobia.

Homophobia might have been invented in a student lab at an HBCU. They're more important as a cultural symbol than they are for actual edjumacation. I'm glad I never got sucked into the college machine, 18 year old me was naive enough to have fallen for this trap. Imagine going into 10s of thousands of dollars of debt just to be sleeping in a tent. I wouldve burnt every building to a crispy cinder.

Black college?

Is that where Americans can major in pimping?

well if you are black and want to be a power player here in politics , law, entertainment, etc its the place to be---mold or mice aside.
