How'd you meet your current or last boyfriend

I'd been dating mostly girls, with a few guys, here and there, on the "down low", until I hit 30. It was then that me and a friend, who was out, were both looking for a roommate to share an apartment with. Not long after we moved in, his boyfriend joined us.

Though I'd lived in Milwaukee for 6yr., I was new to the gay scene that Dave and Brian introduced me to. I was completely surprised how big, and active, it all was. "Small town" Milwaukee is very effective at hiding/down playing just how much this city has to offer. I had NO idea of what had been going on right under my nose!

There were so many bars, organizations, groups, etc., etc. I was being introduced to guys and girls left and right. It was maybe a year before I met Kev.

Kev was tending bar at one of the girl bars. His older brother had tended bar at one of the premier guy bars. They knew, and were known by, Everyone!

When I first met Kev I knew I liked him, but he was with someone else. So, any chances with him were out of the question. And though I was like a kid in a candy store, I was being guarded/reserved, having a phenomenal time, but keeping my clothes on.

About a year later, Kev broke up with his partner. Very long story there, and, no, I didn't have anything to do with that.

One night we were out, and ran into Kev on one of his nights off. At closing time, I mentioned to Brian that I'd love to bring Kev home. He told me I should just go for it, and I was drunk enough that my general inhibitions were down. I was surprised when Kev said he'd wondered if I'd ever ask, and was thrilled that I did.

I was 32, and he was 25. We didn't have a clue what we were starting. That will have been 33yr. ago next month.

You never know what might be waiting for you around the next corner.

All the more reasons to ... No Matter What ...
