Not sure if this is in the right section or not but just wondering how people who are in a relationship (not friends with benefits) met their boyfriend, it can be a causal or serious relationship. Looking for answers from relationship minded posters here.

At the gym...? In a college class...? A bar...? Online....?

Also, how long have you been together? Are you guys still completely closeted? One of you?

Not doing a study or anything just wondering for myself and the benefit of people who haven't found anyone yet but are wondering where and how also.
 
I met my boyfriend on Okcupid, chatted online a few times, then met up infront of the Castro Theater on Election night and have fallen in love (our 8mo anniversary is in two days). We are both out, but there my bf still has a little apprehension about PDA and holding hands in public (he says it's his midwestern values :P)

The last three guys I dated were introduced to me by my big sister. I guess it's saying something that all those relationships ended badly.

I'm starting college at the end of next month, and I know it's unlikely, but maybe I'll meet someone and thus, have my first boyfriend. That would be cool.
 
We were sharing a room at a conference. We had been set up by a friend of his who didn't know either of us was gay. We had sex first and then the relationship began to grow. Almost 27 years now.
 
Online, also at OkCupid, exchanged e-mails back and forth for a little bit through there and then chatted on MSN for a little while.

When I came back into town, we agreed to get together at a local coffee shop early in the afternoon. We went there around, oh, 2 pm and didn't end up leaving until about 6 or 7.

When I dropped him off, he asked if I wanted to go for dinner on Saturday, I agreed, and now six months later here we are.
 
My close friend introduced us and I didn't like him at first. Then I saw him at a party and I forced myself to talk to him and we found out we had a lot in common. We went out on a date, we fucked and it was awesome.

Hmmm ... I'd been "set up" with a guy, through friends/roommates, whom I had "acquired" through someone else, that I wasn't all that interested in. However, through him, and a friend of his, I met the Guy who was going to become "My" Kev.

At the time, Kev, and I, had no idea what it was we were starting that first night I asked him to come home with me. So ... we don't have a "solid" anniversary date. Let's just say, that as of sometime in August, we've been together for 27yr.! :eek: (!w!)

It's quite amazing what can happen, when least expected, as opposed to trying to "work" at something, and just living LIFE as it comes your way!! (group)

i met the boy when i was thirteen, he was fourteen. my parents had just moved from back east to l.a. and were having the new house re-carpeted, so i was sitting on my porch with my dog when i saw him and one of his former friends skateboard past me down the street, my dog wasn't on a leash so he chased after them. they weren't going very fast though. when i caught up and got him, i didn't even get his name, the next year high school started and we were formally introduced. didn't know he was into guys until the night before we got together, eight years later haha.
 
I met my bf close to 7 months ago when I was volunteering at at a no kill animal shelter event. He and his mother came by and on their car wouldn't start so recognizing me from the local grocery store where he works and I shop they accepted a ride home. Feeling bad about their car being down (not to mention the cutie involved) I had the MC to have it towed to my mechanic and it turned out to be the starter. My bf needed a ride to the garage to get the car and I made my move and the rest is history.
that car finally broke down for good so it served its purpose for being here on earth.
