This guy is the Republican front runner, and he goes on to describe single mothers as "very poor, under-educated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death".

Is this the best Republicans have to offer? He doesn't sound very Presidential describing Americans like this.

The word mother indicates that children are involved. have you guys considered that those social programs are designed to help the child, and the mother is of secondary concern?

Shall we take the kids from poor parents and put them in orphanages? Should we just turn them out on the street and jail the moms for being irresponsible for getting knocked up?

If Conservatives want low income mothers with no means of supporting their children to be forced to carry the pregnancy to full term, you can't also deny them financial assistance after you do.

This blaring flaw in the Moral arguments of conservatives is something they never address.

The child in the womb MUST be protected... after that? fuck'em. They are stupid welfare mamas who are on their own.

Its ridiculous and bereft of morality.

No one is going to beat Obama. The republicans have not recovered from the destruction of their party that Bush and Cheney caused, and they are going to fail because they allow the radical teabaggers to control their primaries.

This is just one more reason that these things Old Boner is doing in the house are destroying the republicans chances of getting the white house.

Congressional midterms are MUCH different than presidential elections. We have yet to see a candidate that can both survive the republican primaries that can also win a general election.

Huckabee is a minister... That alone will freak out the independents to a degree that matters. One Divinity degree trumps one Kenyan father. If he loses just three percent of them because of it, he will lose.... and he will.

And lets not forget... the republicans have been making a HUGE deal about the presidents religious backround, so this will be front and center. It's unavoidable. The religion of the candidates are going to be a central element to the election, be it huckabee or romney.

Same thing with Scott Brown blabbing about how he was molested so the news cameras would point to him. Also Gingrich and Rumsfeld..... they have books to sell.

Transparently the salaries of working single mothers is so poor that they are obliged to live in poverty, relying on food stamps to feed them selves, and their children.

Is reliance on medicaid a sign of poverty, or proof that the salaries of single mothers are shamefully inadequate for them to live above the poverty line?

We're already ascertained Huckabee is unelectable because of his misinformation and hate filled rhetoric. All he wants to do it make brash noises so the cameras will focus on him and he can push his book to the uneducated masses. I'll have to study the other Republican hopefuls. Appears President Obama will have a second term as Fox News can't come up with a decent candidate.

What's your point? Loki's cite shows that Huckabee was wrong and that the statistics don't support what he said about single mothers. I don't think you and pixie read Loki's cite very carefully, because you both seem to believe it supports Huckabee's statement.
