Hi everyone,

I know not everyone knows him, but he's been here on JUB for a long time, so I'm sure many people do. I've got his permission to let folks know what's going on with him, in case anyone's been wondering where he's been or would like to share some well-wishes.

Larry, a.k.a. Huskerboy, is a wonderful man. He and I have grown a friendship over the course of my short time here at JUB. He beat cancer a few years ago, but the beast has returned to make war with him again.

A week ago today, he had big surgery, from which he is recovering well. He has a serious, serious battle ahead. He and his partner Shannon are in high spirits and ready to do what they need to do.

Well-wishes here will be appreciated, and if not posted here, good thoughts of healing and strength (or prayers, if that's your style) are most welcome. He's moving to an outpatient care facility sometime today (kind of like a hotel, close to the hospital), and may have access to the internet sometime soon, and will see these eventually. Next time I talk to him, I'll see if there's an address where people can send cards and such if they are so inclined.

Just thought some folks would want to know.

I'm hoping that he and his loved ones have thestrength they need and that they manage to have some laughs along the way.
 
Thanks for letting us know. I do send my best wishes to Larry and the BF. Since my BF lost the battle, I know that it is a battle for everyone involved with the one afflicted.
 
although i don't know of him, i wish him the best for a quick recovery as well.

Will do, hon. He's probably going to be busy settling in for the next couple days, but when I do talk to him I'll double-check. If I'm guessing right, I'd say he'll appreciate any manner of communing with positive forces on his behalf, but I'll check to make sure.

I'm sure he'll appreciate the well-wishes of everyone who's posted, as well as those thinking of him silently, so thanks, y'all. :-)

Larry, you're a wonderful man, and I cherish the "talks" we've had on here. Take care of you, fight the good fight, and get yourself back here healthy and whole so we can see more of that bouncing elephant. Love you, bud.

Hope everything works out for you Larry. Wish we could have met for lunch---offer is still open if you are ever in the area and up for it.
 
I also wondered where he'd gotten to...

Hope he bounces back just like that elephant on the trampoline!
