Hypocritical Democrats - The Call to Violence

Longshoremen storm Wash. port facility

Hundreds of members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) stormed the port of Longview, Wash., early Thursday, overpowering security guards...

The local police chief told the AP that six guards were held hostage for several hours after the longshoremen broke down gates and smashed windows in the guard shack

^^^
This kind of thing can't and shouldn't happen in the USA. No one owes anyone a job and it's criminal to take hostages.

My understanding is that at this time. no one had been arrested.

Is there a reason why we keep talking about so many different people other than the ones referenced in the thread title?

Isn't the question whether the union leader's language was acceptable?

Maybe you stretch to ask whether the President should have addressed the introduction in the interest of civility?

These replies include actions from 5 years prior by completely different people. Is that really relevant?

If your neighbors use their dogs in dog fights, does that mean that you should?

If it turns out that the union led or was even aware of this kind of behavior being planned, they should be considered as a criminal enterprise and charged under the Federal RICO statutes.

Minimally, these union thugs need a good long stay in the house of many doors and few windows.

Gatorguy - when I heard about this I immediately thought about the speech that Hoffa made on Labor Day and his call for Obama's army to be active.

So I see it as being related. I do hope the news report is wrong.

I understand that. I just meant, does it matter if Sarah Palin put bullseyes on t-shirts she sent to Democratic leaders five years ago? (she didn't, but if she had, it would have been wrong)

It seems like rather than comment on whether the Labor Day behavior was appropriate everyone wants to bring up ancient history, and the behavior of others.

Listen, the ball is in Obama's court. If he in any way suggests that language was inappropriate, fine he's been consistent. If not, then no I don't see any reason to castigate others for doing the same thing.

We had a labor leader in NJ behave in much the same way recently. He compared what our governor and legislature were doing to Nazi Germany. See for yourself.

He called the governor Hitler and the two democrat leaders of the assembly and senate his generals. The assemblyman who spoke after him, made it very clear that while they supported the union position, they did not support that hateful kind of speech. That's the way it should be done.

Yes, I agree with you that hateful rhetoric is not constructive to bringing people together. I am not sure what we are disagreeing with here? I can't speak for Obama, and what conversation he may have had with Hoffa afterwards in private to say that wasn't okay. My point is we've seen this kind of rhetoric on both sides. I'm just asking that both sides acknowledge bad words spoken from both political parties. The OP has had a long history of being very selective. However, if he brings up a particular quote, as in the case of Hoffa, I'll agree it wasn't right for him to say that. It wasn't calling people to violence, but it wasn't right either.

SO you support the party that thinks Social Security is a ponzi scheme? Only after they lured millions of baby boomers into thinking it would be there for them. What a class act.

You support the party that believes homosexuality should be a crime?

You support the party that believes natural disasters are God's plagues upon the evil America?

You support the party of hate and separation.

You support the party that wants smaller federal government UNLESS they are enforcing the edicts of hate that your party believes in and says day to day on talk radio.

No the ludicrous portion is the fact that you continue to support that party when they have no issue driving the country off a cliff JUST because they lost power.

Self centered bunch of self serving fuckwads and you're right Son Of bitch is too weak to call them as a name.

They should all be hunted down and removed as a blight on America. Then possibly we can go forward without those that hate America blocking the progress of the people. Remember WE the People? They are coming.

Not to mention that that dopey Pledge to America offers no path to a stronger economy and shows absolutely no vision for moving the country forward.
