So you find a baby on the street, by itself. You pick it up and yell out "Hey, whose baby is this?"

A dude turns around and goes, "Uh...Yeah. That's my baby."

The way he says it doesn't sit right with you. You're thinking that this guy might just be trying to take advantage of the situation to get a free baby.

What do you do? Give the baby to the guy, or ask for some proof?

OP, you don't get out much, do you?
I'm going to run you over with a car.

I know this is a hypothetical question but it reminds me of the shows Oprah did on your inner voice and listening to it. Many people didnt listen to their inner voice and they suffered because of it.

Something it not right. Go find a cop

Listening to your inner voice is important. Except for when it tells you not to run over someone with your car. You can ignore it at that time.

Okay, sorry guys. I'm kind of drunk.

well, first off, i wouldn't even pick up the baby because the child ain't mine so i'm going to just keep it moving. let child services handle that. don't know, don't care, just keeping it funky.

There are safe places to like fire stations and police stations. I'd take the child there and invite mr iffy to tag along. If he tried to just take the kid I'd make sure everyone within ear shot knew what was going on.

Hell, never even thought about that... I'd certainly not give up an abandoned baby to someone just cause they said it's his (or hers)...

You guys are coming up with all of this crazy shit. Okay. Lets say that you're running late for work too. What then?

but seriously though, if i saw a baby on the sidewalk, i would call the cops. i wouldn't even bother to grab the baby because you never know what people are up to nowadays.

Running late for work man? holy shit... that would not matter a bit at all, at least for me..
Now, lets' say you found a bag with several hundred dollars in it... found it on the street.. and someone comes up to you and says 'hey dude. that's mine'... Would you just hand it over?
Nah you would not... not without proper ID or proof... and a baby is far more important..
:D

What if you found a bag with several hundred dollars in it, and when you yelled out, "Hey, whose money is this" an unattended baby turns around and goes, "Uh...Yeah. That's my money."

Would you give the money to the baby?

Surly if dodgy guy was dodgy, he would have just picked up the baby before you and taken it quietly. I am sure someone looking for a baby to do bad things with is not spontaneous, he must keep an eye out, day to day? Therefore carrying through the logic the guy is not dodgy at all but the legitimate owner, and slightly careless?

Have to say I have walked on a lot of streets and never come across a baby just siting there. I would have remembered.
