Well said.

When I was young and dumb and the local pride parade was maybe 200 people in a city of a million, I used to complain that it shouldn't be all drag queens and ass-shaking gogoboys all the time. A friend of mine said if I wanted to tone down the parade, I should go buy a suit and march in it - nobody was stopping me. Damn good advice.

I'm already planning to go to Atlanta's pride, and like you, I believe it should be an EVENT - so i'm NOT going in just a t-shirt and jeans.

Can't wait to see the pics!

I'm fine with skipping the parade, but I do love going to Pride Festivals... can't really explain why, just something in me enjoys being there. :)
LOL me who's not out (& thus shouldn't even be going) . me who's shy & used to have some fear of large crowds .. and yet I go to Pride :rb:

^I'd say that's a step in the right direction in getting over some of your fear. :)

Are there websites where you can see photos / videos from various cities?
YouTube is the place to go for videos!
even have a few there myself LOL

I think you're right about youtube being where to go for videos. Thanks
Back when I first discovered Pride videos on YouTube, I was like: "cool! now I can actually see it" :)
...little did I know that the next year I'd be one of the ones posting videos LOL

I missed the St. Petersburg Florida Pride parade but I went to the festival afterwards for the 1st time ever. So much diversity in shapes, ages, ethnicity, % of clothing covered in the people in attendance.

There's also various vendors/groups set up shop ranging from LGBT friendly churches to social interest clubs to helping domestic abuse victims.

Attendance increased this year, exceeding projections, the landmark DOMA ruling being a possible reason.

There is an interview of him on youtube where he said he is an engineer by training and showed a masters diploma from NYU. He lives in Elmhurst, Queens.

I knew he lived in Queens, but not that he was an engineer. WOW.

I'll have the pics soon, trying to figure out the best way to share them without linking to my Facebook. What's sad is that some of the strongest photos I have are from the fun kids who were in the parade. JUB's rules won't allow me to share them.

I believe you can post links to outside albums.

Why don't set up a temporary account on a photo-hosting site that will cater to JUB - just for the occasion.

You can link to that and still post your favorite thumbnails here so as to not bog down the JUB page loading.

London Pride was amazing. It was my first Pride and it was fun, everyone let their hair down and enjoyed the Parade! It will not be my last!

It's tough because gay people are trying to get rights so everyone should "be on their best behavior" but truthfully, haters gonna hate. Why try and sway people who may not even be able to be swayed?

As long as Pride remains a celebration and not an open buffet for people looking to get fucked, I'm good with the concept. I just get disheartened seeing LGBT Youth marching in the parade followed by literal strippers booty poppin' on the side of an SUV.

Just outside my window!

I only heard about it on the day and I thought, dammit! If I'd known about this, I'd have made a day-trip up to London and gone to see this!

Pride Days are great, it's a really good atmosphere. Brighton Pride Weekend is usually late July/early August and is a fantastic day out, I love it! It's a load of fun and all the guys you see with their shirts off, nothing beats that!

I've already got my ticket for this year's event. ..|
