I accidently clicked

the spam email, clicked the link and put my password in it because
i thought it was a legitimate Hotmail company asking for password.

Now it automatically emailed to all my contacts.
What to do next? because i don't want to change my email address.


Is changing my password the best way ?
People who do these things should go to jail.

2. Send an email to all your contacts explaining what happened. Advise them to delete any previous recent emails from you.

It automatically sent hundreds of emails to my contacts.

It would take too long to send one email at a time everyone, and i don't want to mass send emails to all in one go.

First thing I would do is run Malwarebytes, you can download this from Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download and they have a free version, this will remove any viruses you may have on your machine from that previous spam E-mail, next thing is then change your Password again because you may have had a Keylogger Virus (copies all your passwords basically) after this you should be safe

Sorry to intrude without a suggestion, but a quick question about Malwarebytes...does it have to be the only spyware in use or can I use it as an extra check/separate from my present security? No luck finding an answer online.

300148 .. Yes, you can use it as an additional check, separate from whatever your current antivirus/antispyware is.
I use a couple different programs, Malwarebytes is one of them...
