I am just curious who here hates Christmas or the last two months of the year? I know why I hate it, and there is a reason for it. I am just curious if anybody else shares a dislike for this time of year and if you don't mind share your reason.

 i hate it. everything about it. i am not christian, and don't care to see half of my family that is, so screw the whole ordeal.

i dread it every year because my family is crazy. never can we have a normal moment and enjoy the holidays.....................grrrrr

I don't hate Christmas, but I hate the fact of having to see my family, because my parents go to church, and they don't like me bringing my boyfriend around even if it's just me stopping by to say Hi, they don't want him with me.

My Aunts and Uncles they don't go to church so seeing them is not a big deal, but again, their not against it, but they are not for it either. I would rather see my Aunt's and Uncle's before my parents.

I have 1 Aunt who truly dosen't care for me to bring him with me. In fact Babe and I stayed with her a couple days to fill out some applications and stuff for jobs the week before we moved down here. And that Aunt goes to church also and she is not against it at all. She says, "Whatever makes you happy, If he makes you happy, then that's the main thing."

I'm starting to hate it this year actually. It just annoys me how people can be so quick to say 'Merry Christmas' and be all friendly and be nicer just because it's the 25th of December. I personally would like to see the same attitude all 365 days of the year.

Spending time with family can be a good thing and all, but it seems like Christmas is more about how much you spend, and less about love.

I don't hate Christmas itself, just the 6 weeks leading up to the holiday. Where in the hell are all of these people the other 11 months out of the year anyway? Can you tell I work in retail.....

My other half and I pretty much dislike Christmas. Hate is such a strong word. But it is completely ridiculous how commercialized it has become. It's not supposed to be about the gifts and the giving. We don't put up a tree. We buy gifts for the youngest nieces and nephews, but the adults don't get specific Christmas presents. We buy things for loved ones throughout the year and not just on birthdays and mother's and father's day. We see that they need something we buy it.

If you saw the Supersize Me movie the you will be glad to know he is making a movie called "What would Jesus Buy"?

I wonder how many people just say 'screw it' and travel somewhere to escape it all during Christmas?

I don't hate Christmas but then I don't spend time with my family.
I have a circle of friends, that have turned into my family and enjoy every minute I get to spend with them.

Amen to that.

I like Christmas because it's a break from school. It's also good to see family and friends and just hang out for a while. My family has never been able to afford big gifts and fancy stuff, so the commercialization has never really affected me as much as it has others. I doubt I'll get anything for Christmas this year, but it doesn't really bother me. I have all the necessities I need. :-)

I wouldn't use the word "hate", but I do NOT look forward to the holiday season.
The fact that it centers around family...and the fact that my family is NOT close at all, that's part of the reason. Being alone...without a "significant other" this time of year that feeling is hightened. I'm not a celebratory or party person, either.

That's why.....I've said it before.........Jan. 2 is one of my favorite days on the calendar, because it's all over for another year.

:-)

I hope you all realize that anyone who posts anything negative about Christmas in this thread are on Mr. Marley's list for three-ghost visitations on Christmas eve.

You see my three ghosts came in reverse, and I can't wait until the ghost of christmas future.

How was christmas?
Yeah, it was OK I guess..
What you get upto?
Same as last year.. Nothing much. You?
Same... Get anything good?
This & that.. Nothing mental
Innit.

It's cold.
The whole family becomes stupidly poor.
A HUGE build-up for 1 day, thats the same as any other, but you swap a couple gifts.
Work = Hectic.
It rains.
Always dark.
It's mainly for kids.
I'm not one single tiny bit religious, so I think it's all a load of bollocks about "what happened".

I love Christmas.

I don't hate Christmas, because this is the only occasion my town actually becomes nice looking, with all the lights, decorations, etc.
But I hate almost all of my family, they're like leeches. So I don't spend Christmas with my family.

I hate Christmas more than I could possibly say.

If they outlawed it, I'd be happy as a pig in shit.

This year, like every year, I'll spend Christmas the same way I always do.

I'll lock the doors, draw the blinds, yank the phone out of the wall, disengage my internet, turn out the lights, climb under the covers of my bed and pretend that it's not happening.

Very peaceful.

I love it because it brings an end to the nightmare preceeding it. I don't bother with telly now because I hate the adverts, the stupid jingles, the self adhesive jollity and the rest of it. When the three ghosts come and visit me I will give them each a bloody good shag.

I'll sleep in Christmas day before having my celebratory cheese sandwich and a cup of tea then I might go for a stroll round the local town centre as it is the only day of the year it is deserted and one can appreciate the place without the seething crowds.

Wow, that's actually kinda sad.

I like the month leading up to Christmas. I help my folks with their tree, put up lights, go to Christmas parties, hit Midnight Mass, and listen to the music. Then when Christmas day hits, I come off the high and dread takin' everything down. They usually stay up until late January.
