I am a big simmer. I play the sims quite often. The sims is known to have bugs galore because there is so much to do, it's expected. I have endured and stuck with the sims series for a long time now, ignoring all of the bugs fairly easily. That is until now. I was trying to play tonight and within twenty minutes, I had to restart my computer three times because the game completely froze -- it didn't just crash, it froze my entire computer and I am just about fed up with this shit now. Sorry, but I had to get this off of my chest. It is bugging me way more than it should be, I realize. Oh man, I need to get a new hobby :/

Yeah it can be quite frustrating. Are you sure you've download all available patches for it? Do you have any similar issues in other games? Even if The Sims freezes, you should be able to quit it without resorting to restarting the computer, so maybe there's an underlying issue with your setup.

Maybe that's just being optimistic. I love me some Sims, too :)

I have played since the day the original came out. I love the sims, own every single one :) Yes, they do crash and what not...but it is one of my all time favorite games. Will always play. :)

Hmm. Care to go further in depth with that?

I used to play The Sims almost everyday 8 years straight...then I got bored of it. TS3 just wasn't fun for me.

Yeah I think since they started over again with The Sims 3 it got bored yeah you could add more custom Sims like making them look fatter but at the same time you have to wait until all the good things come out.

Check that you have the latest drivers for everything - especially graphics cards. If the problem only occurs for The Sims (and you have other mid-graphics-intensive games that cause no issues) then I'd bet it's a problem with the game itself.

I've been extremely lucky with Sims from the first all the way up to the latest, but I guess I attribute it to being pretty tech savvy and not making ANY custom modifications or downloading any custom content. That may also have something to do with it. My game is pretty vanilla, so there are fewer things that can screw things up.

Good luck simming!

But that's the good thing about custom content on PC you can download stuff that the original game doesn't give you. So you can enjoy having a bigger TV or being able to drive a hot looking car.

As with the console versions of The Sims 3 you can't really get a lot of custom content it's very limited. Since you can only just seem to change the color scheme of an object and share it on the Exchange.

I think Sims has the most glitches because it's not a 100% bug free game that whatever you do or make in your Sims world will have issues like building the home of your dreams it might look good but the game will have issues including sims responding to actions to where they can't climb up the stairs because the way the stairs is set up.

I saw this issue with The Sims 2 when I had created nice homes and the sims in my game would keep turning around because they didn't know how to perform that action.

Hacking the game is what causes issues like putting a cock on your Sim and it not always being attached to your sim all the time. The game wasn't made for having stuff like that added so it would cause some sort of glitch.

I believe when my Sims 3 froze it was because I had downloaded a house from some website it was beautiful like those nice modern homes that aren't in the actual game, when they added the basement feature I was customizing the home and clicked on basement game froze within seconds. Just need to make sure that if you do download custom content that it will not give you issues.
