Good evening from northern Texas, I hope you're all doing well! :wave:

Well, I, myself, took it upon myself to answer the challenge I issued last week on this fine website: That someone would make a comedy-themed clip about Sharron Angle. After all, friends: one look at this clip, and you'll know, she had it coming sooner or later.

I give you now: "Meet Sharron Angle: A Political Comedy Short Film". It's a hair over 5 minutes in length, and some of these moments are funny as heck! :=D:

This is my first foray into video editing/producing. As you will note by the beautiful blue and black interstitial slides, my true specialty is visual graphics, for which I hope to go to college for, someday.

Good or bad, I want to know what everyone has to say on this, so please post away.

I wonder if there is a way to clean up the background noise (not the music) in the early interview material. That would make it all easier to hear, but I don't know whether it's possible.

It looks like good material, but do you think the Rachel Maddow material might not be better broken up a bit more? I kind of worry about how much of it there is and about how continuous it feels.

It's good work. The speed-up sequences I think work well. I would be especially proud of those.

Thank you for the kind words and critiques. Unfortunately, I didn't see where it was possible to alter the original audio on the clips to phase out background noise.

I used a program, VideoPad, from an Austrailian company called NCH. I got it over the weekend. Paid about $60 bucks, factoring in the Austrailian/USA dollar exchange rate. It's a good, and very user-friendly piece of software. Although I will say that I needed a calculator to do some quick on-the-fly math, to jack up the video bitrate settings for the higher resolution.

I thought about breaking up the Rachel Maddow/KLAS-TV footage, but decided against it. I decided that even though her answers were long-winded, using the full clips with her long answers, it would more accurately show her comments in context, and that she was digging herself deeper into a hole.

maybe I'll send it to her in an email.... she loves to play this kind of thing on her show!

Thank you. As I said when I issued the challenge last week, if someone actually does create such a video (as I did), it might be the most popular ameteur-created political ad this year.

The sooner we can get rid of Gov. Good-Hair, the better. Him and his 'it's good to be the king' :king: style ( :bs: ) both need to be sent packing...now! Hopefully, this November, we can send Rick Perry packing, once and for all, and get someone like Bill White, whose elevator actually does go all the way to the top floor. HA!
