  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I bet muslims are silent about this !!!

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Millions of people across the globe claimed Je Suis Charlie!

There doesn't seem to be many claiming Je Suis Nahed!.

I believe his holiness the pope had to come out and apologize every time the IRA blew someone up.

Nobody needs to apologize. Just to speak out against it.

Most of the press in Morocco speaks out against this kind of terrorism, naming and shaming the preachers who praise these acts (and who are usually in jail by that time). Unfortunately, muzzies in Europe tend to be a lot more conservative, world-unwise, less scientifically literate, and generally imbecile than those in our part of the world.

The IRA was mostly funded by the foaming-at-the-mouth, fire-and-brimstone preaching, pre-Vatican II bible-thumping yankee catholics. Likewise, the barely literate muzzie half-wits in Europe are now funding muzzie fundies in northern Africa, while the people here are mostly ready to move on and live in peace with the rest of the world.

But you prove the point.

There are many Muslims who speak out against terrorism. But the western media never reports those voices, except in extrme and rare circumstances.

It is unreasonable to expect everyone in a collective entity to have to speak out on every act of violence or aggression by one of their 'members'.

And I know this is what some want.

And by the way, using muzzie as a label really doesn't help the dialogue much.

If a group of people have to speak up to prove or make it known that they don't condone violence, then every one of us is guilty and apparently condones violence in some form or fashion because we don't speak out against it all the time. The narrative that a specific group needs to apologize or speak out against violence or terrorism is ridiculous cause it comes from people who don't hold themselves to the same standard.

All this does is feed an agenda, that's all.

If violence is committed in the name of a specific religion, then all those who choose to follow that religion need to grasp every opportunity to distance themselves from it, for they are the only ones who can change the hearts and minds of their fellow believers.

There is no need for muslims to distance themselves from the KKK or the IRA.

My point exactly: the so-called liberal western media follow a policy of appeasement towards extreme right-wing muslim conservatives that would never get that much attention in many muslim-majority countries. There was no 'controversy' about a burkini ban in Morocco. A burkini ban was announced one day and enforced the next. Go figure.

Does this apply to all groups or just religious groups?

Back to the issue:
Muslims in Jordan were outraged by Nahed Hattar's cartoon.
Where are the outrage of his murder??

Not all religions are the same.
When talking about a certain issue, it is annoying to compare a mouse to a whale .

I've noticed that Zeno Lorea is able to discuss things reasonably.

alright i jumped to the conclusion to quickly
because it is always the case when talking about a topic, people suddenly compare totally unrated stuff like how about Buddhists or Hitler ... etc

??? .

Zeno makes a very clear point.

This can be equated to the Catholic priests scandal of child molestation.
Obviously not all Catholics are child molesters, but when you have several of them being accused or found guilty of child molestation and their respective Archbishops and the Pope don't come out publicly condemning their actions and swiftly punishing them, stripping those priests of their title, then what are people to think other than apparently the Catholic church supports and sanctions child molestation.

What I further do not understand is why a civil discussion cannot be had posing a critical analysis of an ideological system and its religious tenants that don't end with political underpinnings, with two mudslinging factions emerging, one accusing the other of some hidden racist or bigoted agenda.

Disagreeing with an ideology does not make one racist, as an ideology and the subsequent participle describing those who adhere to its tenants have nothing to do with race or ethnicity.

It would be quite refreshing if one of these days people could move beyond kindergarten and actually have a worthwhile, meaningful discussion on an actual topic pertaining to real issues that actually matter.

Catholic priests did NOT do crimes for god,
but islamists do crimes for god. Big difference.
