Hi everyone, i'm new, I decided to join this forum because I came out roughly a month ago to a very trusted friend of mine.

She had been BEGGING me to tell her who I liked everyday for like 5 months then I said in a low voice "well.....you know.....what people say....i mean, call me.....everyday?" and she replied "yeah....that your gay?". I simply said "yeah, that.....well it's true" and she was like "OMG you thought I would hate you for THAT?, OMG I love you now, we can totally hang out..etc, etc". I am thinking about coming out to more people soon.....

Anyway, thanks for reading if you happened to.

I think you'll find (especially in a place like Melbourne) that being gay isn't as horrifying as you might think. People aren't going to run screaming from you when they find out. Especially since, as you've suggested, many have already guessed. :)

Congrats on your first step. And yes, it sounds like you might make some more soon. May as well - life gets a lot easier when you leave that burden behind. :)

Welcome to JUB, and well done! As Lex said, it gets easier - I found that the more friends I came out to the more comfortable I also became in regards to accepting who I was. It's a great feeling being yourself :)

I came out to a couple friends, and they have been great about it too. It does feel good, doesn't it?
 
Thanks guys, yeah.. It does feel wonderful when you make that first step. I am just very glad I did it, I can finally stop beating myself up. I will keep you all updated if I make that second leap anytime soon.
