"I Don't Believe In Gay Marriage"

Hey, he has every right to be an uninformed moron.

Modern day Uncle Toms tapdancin for their hetero Massa.

But he was with his gay friends, speaking in his gay voice.:-)

Being 60 and openly gay does not make someone wise. He could be bitter, maybe he has been hurt by life,
maybe he is just a negative person or maybe he likes to say outragious things for affect? The only way to
have known would have been to engage him in conversation. I bet you will regret not doing that.

Can't expect all gays to believe everything that you believe, right? He has his viewpoint and you have yours. He's in the minority within gays. Some people believe in gods; some don't. I believe in the Avengers!

There are plenty of heteros who don't believe in marriage, period. Couples have children and raise them together for years but never wanted to get married legally.

I know plenty of gay people who, if not necessarily against gay marriage, certainly don't give a fuck about it. No way of telling what this guy was thinking based on the single sentence, but maybe he was just one of those. Or perhaps he really doesn't believe in gay marriage, in which case, his stance is certainly unique and refreshing, wouldn't you say?

Im really getting sick of you and your sensibility. For once cant you just jump to a conclusion and make snap judgments about a complete stranger like normal people do?

What is with these homosexuals that think they are oh-so great for standing up against gay rights?

If they happen to be this way, I'd say it's a case of being willfully and horribly ignorant. It takes zero effort to recognize that we are treated unequally.

But for some reason it's more important to them to be oppositional despite the facts.

But is it jumping to a conclusion when the stranger so deftly makes their position known?

If a person is coming out with such a definitive statement, they are the ones taking away the need to make any kind of judgement of them. You either agree or disagree.

You again? Shouldn't you be passed out in a pool of $3 wine and your own sick this early?

...how's that?

I'm 65 and in the heyday of the 70s pre-HIV there was pride taken in being anti-all things hetero by the gay crowd the was out and about. The vocal people that were in the clubs looking to hook-up (we called it tricking then), at the baths or in the bookstores would often put down monogamy as being too hetero.

While people have partnered since the beginning of time, many lived quiet lives in relation to the "scene" because many assumed that if you were in a bar you were looking to hook up. Many couples tended to stay home.

In short, some gay men have programmed themselves to be ant-relationship and are frustrated when an "object of their desire" isn't available to them. The real issue is that what people do or do not believe in reagarding civil rights ought not to be put up to a vote.

he's just a bitter old queen who thinks because it wasn't there for him then it should be denied for the next generation.

and damn ignorant too

It's the whole "marriage is a heterosexual construct symbolizing property ownership" bullshit. It comes from moral relativists, post-modernists, deconstructionists and other affectations arising from sociology.

We can safely ignore them.

I don't believe in fascists or flashing females or factory floors
I don't believe in speeding, I don't believe in spreading spores
I don't believe in Cupid or his laden arrows out of the blue
All of that is stupid but then again it's up to you

Marriage may be a personal achievement but it is an achievement. Having someone worth spending a lifetime with is something worth celebrating. Should the government recognize that celebration? I dunno. Politicians seem to go out of their way to congratulate olympians. But isn't a gold medal just a personal achievement? Shouldn't the government stay out of it? It discriminates against the uncoordinated and the unathletic when the government gets involved.

(or maybe i don't want to vote for a world that sterile…)

Re: "I Don't Believe In Gay Marriage"

You could have said something, but do you really think you're responsible for every lost cause under the sun? Why would you bother?

lately I've been wondering if marriage as a whole isn't discriminatory towards single people and if the government should really be involved with encouraging people to couple up at all.

Is that right.

Well, keep wondering that.

See, Naughty. It's not that hard.
