I don't mind gay people as long as they don't shove it down my throat.

So, I don't see anything wrong with straight people who don't like gay people flaunting the fact they are gay constantly.... Just like most people don't like other people constantly flaunting their sex lives and unduly bragging about or bringing up their sexual desires or conquests constantly. No matter who's doing it, it always smacks of overcompensation.

I perfectly agree, ANYBODY constantly flaunting their sexual exploits/private business tends to grate peoples nerves. IF however, that was the key reasoning behind the sentence, it would seem strange for the wording to be "I don't mind gay people as long as they don't shove it down my throat", why specify it to such an extent if your expressing a general grievance of say "i dont like people parading their sex lives"?

I also prefer to be in control when sucking a cock and hate it when they try to shove it down my throat.

I've never heard a gay person say that TBH.

A lot of homosexuals, namely downlow and discreet guys are prejudice against open and/or flamboyant gays.

Take some REALLY feminine pics of yourself, (hand on your hip, lip gloss, skinny jeans), go to a black gay chat site, upload those pics, and prepare to be ridiculed until you crack and delete your account.

We've seen it on JUB before, gays who are out and gays who are feminine and flamboyant catch a lot of heat from moderate gays.

EDIT: I wish people would stop saying "I have never seen/heard" as if that matters, as if the only things that exist have to be verified by your experiences.

It's like returning to your days of infancy. If it's not in front of me; if I can't see it, surely it doesn't exist.

Its perfectly valid to say that in his experience he hasnt noticed the term used by gay people, it could be a comment on the frequency/circumstances/places in which the sentence is used by gay people rather than a blanket statement that no gay person anywhere has ever used it, come on fabulous, use that commonsense your always talking about and make some logical inferences.

As to the statement itself, the actual premise behind the statement could be questioned when and if it is used by a gay person. Considering the subject of the sentence, firstly it would be strange for a gay person to turn gay people into the other when comparing them to himself. Does he have a problem with himself, thinking about gay stuff? Or does the use of the statement indicate an attempt to distance himself from the "gay people".

Exactly.

That's what I meant by that.

well i think that is a shitty attitude to have but i can understand where they r coming from, its kind of the same scenario as some christians and atheist (sp?)

I think this applies with anything.

It's annoying when Christians turn every second line of their conversation with you into a religious message. It's annoying when someone with interest in politics keeps dragging the conversation round to it. It's annoying when someone goes on and on and on about anything; new parents in particular.

I mean, we find solace and companionship in other people through the things we have in common. If the other person is going to continually touch on the one thing which is clearly a fundamental difference between the two of you, it's going to get very old very quickly.

I don't think it's homophobia so much as boredom, frankly.
