I think what is making me angry is the usual lack of anyone seeing my side of things on JUB. That and Kathy Griffin's comment about gays and adoption. You have the right to be hurt by what she said...I don't think that's truly the issue here. However, that still doesn't make it right to judge an entire person WHOM YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT on a personal level (wich is where you truly can know someone, obviously) based on a thing or two that person said. From one or two things, you're generalizing to her entire personality and that's really unfair and biased. She may have made a bad joke (I don't know what the joke is but giving the benefit of the doubt and considering each person's own subjective view on things). Does that mean she's a bad person? NO!

As I said earlier, she's human. Everyone says stupid, wrong and hurtful things all the time but that doesn't mean we're bad people. Nobody's perfect so it's unfair to ocstracize someone because of a couple of things that were said. Katty might've hurt you with that joke but she's made much more good than evil so...

Some of the comments she makes are downright homophobic. The comment she made about gay men being full of shit for wanting to be fathers because it is the trendy thing to do left a bad taste in my mouth. She also refers to children adopted by gay parents as "gaybies." She says she supports "the gays", but expecting them to just be party people who only value partying and sex shows how much she sees the community as a stereotype. I don't understand why gay people continue to support her when she continuously ridicules gays in her act.

Thats the reaction she was going for. I agree with her, most gay guys are full of shit for wanting kids. Kids are for lesbians and breeders.

I like fairy tales, and fairies. They are always bringing you cool stuff and wanting to be your friend. They do almost anything you tell them.

BDH, I don't know you from your posts, so I can't speak to how you communicate in other threads. I do know that with this particular thread, you didn't really ask for understanding, nor did you seemingly ask people to understand you. You started off by saying that you don't understand "gays" and why they like her. You stated it as though you are removed from the population instead of a part of it.

You've also answered more of the charged up posts here, almost picking a fight with those who will provide it, rather than addressing points in posts where people are trying to just communicate their reasoning. Calling the people "tired" who like her is a childish way of insulting people just because they appreciate/like/get something that you don't.

You're hurt by her joke. Okay, gotcha. You're angry that people on here don't agree with you? Maybe it has something to do with how you present yourself. Communication can only reach understanding if the speaker is as open about listening as he is about talking.
