  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I feel bad for this guy. (Not for the faint of heart)

Where are the wheelbarrow and shovel guys when you need them?

One of the few real emotional responses I have ever felt for someone I don’t know is for this guy. Every time I see this picture I feel bad for him that he lives during a time when everything ends up on line.

This thread should be moved to the Fetish forum where our more special posters can... er... have fun with it. ;)

Something similar happpened on Jackass, but on purpose.

What he went through is only worth if he ended up in the top three. Otherwise: give up!

See, I find myself wanting to know what happened!

Did he have to poop and just couldn't hold it?

Did he think it was going to be a fart and got surprised?

Does running long distances give you diarrhea?

I wish some kind soul had come out into their yard and hooked up the garden hose, just to wash him off a little.

Poor guy.

Having been a long distance runner and a triathlete myself, I can tell you - it happens.

Fortunately, it never happened to me.

It is quite possible to push the body so hard that one cannot totally control what happens.

Just Google 'Julie Moss' (Ironman 1982) or 'Gabriella Anderson-Schiess' (LA Olympics 1984, IIRC) to see what people will go throught to try and get to the finish line. That said, probably the most famous instance is Dorando Petri in one of the very early (1908?) Olympic Marathons.

After you have spent months of hard core training - and put your body & soul on the line in the race itself - for some people, 'not finishing' is just not a option.

You have to be (or have been) a committed athlete to understand...

Oh my goodness. That's dedication. It's like cyclists - it's true they just whip it out and piss while still riding, right?

Where is one of those water stations when you need one?! He must have had a major case of diaper rash by the end of the race.

This happens to many runners.

Wow, okay. So it's like your body is saying, "Dammit, it's all we can do to keep you moving! Fuck bowel control!" That's hard core.

While I'm at it, and on an off-topic note, why do runners sometimes get nosebleeds?

And, being the aspiring history nerd that I am, I am off to look up the runners and events past that you cited. Thanks for the explanation!
