Stress

It was October 2006, my mom was arrested and my sister was having a baby. We all lived together.

I've still got 170 Marlboro Lights left from my visit to LA and since they now cost over $12 a 20 pack here in Ireland I think I'll be going real easy on them from now on myself.

:D

good god

I was bitching about $5.00!

Although my dad pays almost $10 a pack...

Yet another reason to love North Carolina. Last time I bought a pack, it was about $3.

I haven't had a cigarette in four months.

I need my stress relief... ](*,)

It doesn't really bother me that much... I just can't afford them right now... Not at these prices! :grrr:

Congratulations Kevbo....keep it up...just take it one moment at a time. (*8*)

Smokers can get help finding a Quitline® phone counseling program in their area by calling the ACS at 1-800-ACS-2345 (1-800-227-2345).

Shit, I've "quit" so many times I'm going to live forever.

Dammit!

Hang in there! Your lungs are going to thank you for it! :)

Well... it's been 3 days.

I'm starting to get out of that stage where I keep telling myself, "One cig wont hurt"

Good.

My record was 5 days. Then I left work one day (it was when I was working at a bar) and I had a really stressful night, said to hell with it and had one in my garage when I got home. :(

my longest was two months, i think.
the ex pissed me off, we were having an argument about who could and who could not change...
so i quit. and he didn't change.

roll-yer-own buglers are less than $2 a pack
and so yummy.

good going, kevbo, I may join your ranks someday but probably
*puff*
not tonight.

Good.

You never get over that stage! I 'quit' once for 2 years. Then I thought one would be ok. I've been smoking ever since! #-o

Congratulations Kev!!! I support your efforts unconditionally - please avoid the strong temptations to turn back

Really, the same comments to you as well, Lightsage.

Without exception, I am ALWAYS very happy to see somebody stop smoking.

My same feelings and support for arabbb, gmoney, noelie and xthrock should you ever decide to follow through on your desire to quit. The hard part is actually deciding to quit.

I feel the same about anybody else who has quit, is quitting, or is thinking about quitting. I've had three good friends die from smoking in as many years, and they were all around 60 years old. I am so thankful I never got started.

I can't even find it in myself to walk away from something like dark chocolate, for which the addiction is "nothing" compared to smoking's addiction. However, if it was a dangerous substance, I think it would be a lot easier to stop...

GOOD LUCK, and I mean this sincerely from the heart.

Hang in there, hopefully you'll quit for good. Maybe if I share my experience with you you'll learn something and be able to do what I couldn't.

I quit once for two months. Then I went to a party, got drunk and smoked all my friends cigarettes. Back to square one. It's hard when friends and family smoke.

Then I quit for two weeks, only because I caught the flu. I was so sick I didn't feel the withdrawals that time though. After it passed I had the best week of my life... Until I started getting tired all the time and realized I wasn't sleeping well due to not having that one cigarette before bed... A third of a cigarette eventually led to a lot of cigarettes a day. Back to square one...

So, learn from my mistakes. The only thing I know for sure is to watch out for smoking friends/family and that you can never ever just have one or part of one without rebooting the entire addiction. I wish you the best of luck. (*8*)

I always feel like murdering a few people and I don't even smoke.

Kevbo I'm feelin it with you. In 43 days the hardest part was not beating the shit out of the gardener at 8:30 this morning for running the leaf blower full throttle at the window for 20 goddamn minutes when its raining.

Well. Someone I know has become determined to buy me a carton of cigs so I don't go crazy on the booze on election day and as an early birthday present...

I won't ever want a cigarette again. I'll have enough to last me through college.
