Well I just put my dog to sleep like a couple of hours ago she had cancer, and there was nothing they could do for her. This is my first time that I had to go through this. I just could not handle seeing my dog suffer. I feel so sad and alone.

That really is what friends are for.

I had to put my sweet little Douglas to sleep at 19 after he had a stroke. worst day of my life.

But in the end, you know you did the right thing, right?

I am so sorry for your loss man. You did do the right thing. It would have been more cruel to let your friend suffer on with her illness.

I'm sorry you had to do that, but it was really kind of you. I've had to put a lot of animals down myself. It feels horrible.

I had to put my 15 year old cat down last year because of a failed liver.

I was all stiff-upper-lip and everything until the vet arrived and she said to say goodbye one last time....

I completely lost it.   Typing this is making me cry--and smile. He was a great cat--what a personality!

I know how you feel. But you did the best thing for your friend. (*8*)

I know it dosen't mean much right now,but I am sorry for you.I had to have my cat put down a few years ago and I still miss him.(*8*) (*8*)
Just remember the good times

Two years ago my 7-year-old black lab developed a tumor on one of his toes. The vet operated and took off the toe, but the biopsy showed it to be a malignant melanoma which had already spread to his lungs, then his brain. After my dog began going blind, I knew it was time to call the vet. When he got to where he no longer wagged his tail when I called him or touched him, I knew he was suffering too much, so I finally called the vet who lived near my neighborhood. The vet came out to my house and put him to sleep where he lay in my tractor shed, only a few yards away from where he had been born 7 years earlier...

I still miss him...

I only had her for about 5 months. I got really attached to her she was all I had while I moved from town to town. And when we finally find a place to call home she got really sick. I dont think I could have another pet for a while.

My heart goes out to you fenrill, and really anybody that goes thru this.
The unconditional love that pets give you is such an awesome thing and
their death can hurt so much. I've had to put down my pure bred
German Shepard (they are known to have many problems when age sets
in) when I was in my teens...I put down a cat a couple years ago and
now my other cat is getting old and a little sick. I have to take her for
a shot every 2 months so she can digest food well. I cry just thinking
about the day, so I know where you are coming from. But you did
the right thing, suffering isn't what you would have have wanted for her.

Right there with you. My Lilith died about 6 months ago from a spider bite. We got her 16 years ago when we bought our first house. Then 3 months later, her kitten Puglsey(my baby) had to be put to sleep because of ruptured tumor in his stomach. He was born in our bedroom 14 years ago...Putting him to sleep was the hardest thing I've ever done.

I can barely see thru the tears ..and...bifocals besides ... I'm just so sorry for your loss . I put down my precious Princess, a German Shepard, after shee went blind. I'd had her for nearly seventeen years and she slept at the foot of my bed . She saved me one time from an attacker . I had to be sedated for two weeks after her passing . Thank God for a buddy who stayed with me during my ordeal.
God Bless You ... My Prayers and thoughts go out to you .

Here's a Big Hug, Fenrill....
I lost a cat of 14 years two years ago to cancer and it was one of the hardest days of my life. The good thing is, your companion is no longer suffering. Remember the good times and the fun times.
Take care man!!

Dear Fenrill--
I am so sorry for your loss-- I am going through a similar thing right now. My 13 yr. old dog ,who i adopted when he was still a puppy, is dying of oral cancer. He has been my constant companion--and how I will miss him when he goes! I know you must be feeling low-- all I can say is remember the good times you had with your dog--after the grieving is finished that is what you will remember, and that is the most fitting testament. I have lost many pets over the years, for unfortunately dogs and cats don't live near as long as humans. But I have found that after the pain of loss has lessened, the memory of my beloved pets is sweet and comforting, for I know that I gave them a good home and a whole lot of love. And they gave me the same!(*8*) (*8*) (*8*)

It isn't easy to say goodbye but you did the right thing. My thoughts are with you. I had to let my dog Jock go 2 years ago. I know how you feel. (*8*) (*8*) (*8*)

OMG, Fenrill, please know that you did the right thing to end your baby's pain and suffering!!

I know, right now the hurt is like an open wound; but with time you will feel better and come to accept that you did the right thing!

I held my precious dog of 17 years while the Vet administered the stuff that put my Josh to sleep.........he did NOT even whimper; but went to a forever sleep where there is NO pain and suffering! sigh

I do hope you go through the process of grieving for your little buddy as we all should when this happens to us!

Hey, our animals are our friends and oft times they are our children substitutes!

Rest in peace dear pup!!(*8*) (*8*)
