Re: I feel so manly great now.

How old is your car? I thought they stopped putting cigarette lighters and ashtrays in them long ago?

Re: I feel so manly great now.

Good for you, Piggy :=D:

You can bring car to me. I do all my own maintaince and repair even worked as a race mechine. Funny thing, now that I have collected all the tools and equipment I need to do everything, I have gotten tried of working on cars.

Re: I feel so manly great now.

good for you piggy!

you're on your way to being a star fleet engineering candidate!

;)

Re: I feel so manly great now.

The mice eat the wire insulation.

Wooo, that low flying pig almost hgt me. Got to duck quicker

Re: I feel so manly great now.

I wish, but somethings I know are too complex for me.

Sidenote here: My back rear windows won't roll down anymore. I checked the fuses and they are okay. What can it be?

Child safety locks???

I suggest you check the wire connectios in the door. They could have corroded. Just take the apart and spray withg contact cleaner (Radio Shack),. Also the switch needs to be sprayed.

Piggy, there's hope for you. My Dad was a singer/actor and like most show business people didn't know which end of a screwdriver to use. After he retired, he taught himself, with help from a mechanic friend and me, to do a good number if things around the car.,

I think I'm detecting humor. ;)

Yes, yes you are. ..|

Seriously, once you are in the door the window lifts are easy, but getting the door panels off can be a pain. Take you time. Mechincal stuff is logical and you may be able to figure it out. For me it is easy. I can usually just look at an assembly and understand it. But then music is beyond me and to my Dad it was natural. We each have our talents and often wish we had others that are beyond us.

Wish I could drop by and fix it for you. Good luck.

When I have a problem like you did Piggy ... I just call my neighbor and he fixes whatever I need fixing. What a super guy he is ... I'm so lucky and he's my best friend too!! (!) :gogirl:

Re: I feel so manly great now.

OooOooooOoOoO YAY PIGGY!

Next on the list.... Changing your oil! YAY!

After that, you're on small engine duty. Take apart your lawn mower and put it back together again. I do a complete overhaul on mine every two years at the beginngin of the year, and the carborator at the end of the year. My lawn mower broke and I took everything apart, cleaned it all and put it back together and studied everything as I did.

Need a job? We're always looking for mechanics who know what they're doing. And by complete overhaul, do you mean you're replacing the rings and shit?

A fuse blew in my car today. The radio and cigarette lighter weren't working.

I took out the car's manual and read about the fuses.

I found the two spare fuses: 15 and 30 next to the engine.

I located and used the special tool to remove fuses.

I found the bad fuse and replaced it with the new one.

And the radio and cigarette lighter is working again. (!)

My shirt/hands also got dirty from working on the car.

!oops!

I'm so proud of myself. :gogirl: ;)

What is so manly about being able to fix a car engine? More like nerdy...

ooooh cool. can you fix my headlight now? it'll cost me 400 bucks at the repair place. oh wait that's in addition to the 243 dollars it took to diagnose the problem. ...someone say sucker.

Engineers never get the chick...

Damn! I won't get the chick? Gee, that's terrible

And, I'll HAPPILY be the "nerdy" guy that can fix my own engine and not have to pay someone else to do so. Whether someone considers that "manly" or not isn't a concern. I guess if scars from doing your own work are manly than I qualify.

I felt uber "Butch" the other day when I used a can of "fix-a-flat" on my tire. I was able to make it to the tire station where I gladly watched the sexy cute dude repair my tire...lol

Lol...I would never let a guy fix my car for me, unless it was something ultra complicated that couldn't possibly be figured out by a non-professional. Having my tires changed by a guy would make me feel...like a woman. There are certain things that a real man can't have someone else help them out, and changing the car tires is one of those things. But I guess this is not an issue to gay men, since they don't follow the straight man's definition of what a "real" man is.

First, he's gay. He doesn't want a chick.

Second, if you're in medical school I would think you would be able to read more thoroughly. He changed a fuse, not fixed his engine.

Third, you went from sounding degrading to nerdiness to trying to showcase yours? Wow, just wow...

Ha ha ha...calm the fuck down, chichi. It's not that serious.

"Fix engine" = figure of speech = "change a fuse".

And I am in medical school, and I did understand what he said. I was being metaphorical about being able to change a car engine and not literal. Furthermore, even if I misunderstood what he said, I would have an excuse since English is not my first language.

As for the nerdiness, I pointed out that I'm kinda nerdy myself to elucidate that I don't think it's a bad thing, but that saying that being able to fix a car engine is not manly as it is nerdy.

There are plenty of straight men who don't follow your definition of what a "real" man is.

Never met a straight guy who was ok with a guy changing his tires for him. Never!

Like a woman, eh?

I like women, but to quote the old Barbie doll:

"Math is hard!"

Women are just not very god at figuring how stuff works. Nothing wrong with that. A different kind of brain from men's, more suited for empathising and interpersonal relationships.

My goodness, aren't you the sexist one.

Oh, you do know that you were responding to a woman when you said that? One that, I'm quite sure, has already figured out how you work.

Still replying to my posts? What happened to your "whatever"?

Ok, so now is my turn::rolleyes:
