This is such an american issue...
It is somehow amusing to see how Americans get extreme opinions or grow fetish over such an anecdotal thing... in most parts of the rest of the world a penis is just a penis and nobody cares whether it's cut or not (apart maybe for the religious crowd) as long as it gives you what you want !
I'm cut, and as far as I recall, out of all my sexual encounters (had many) only one guy once noticed and said "oh you're circumcised" and then proceeded to getting back to sucking it.
To me this whole thread is just like : OMG your ear is pierced, so disgusting... oh no it's an unpierced ear that is gross and dirty, I will never date someone without and earring... come on dude pierced ears are unnatural how can you not be turned off by them !! etc etc ...

One heretofore unmentioned aspect relates to the patients' own discomfort on the matter. This discomfort cannot be understated.

As an adjunct to this peculiarity, one can safely surmise that, out of all of the Industrialized countries, a strong vein of Victorianism runs through the zeitgeist of the country.

This strain of Victorianism would necessarily manifest itself through the attitudes of both the staff in the nursing homes, and in the patients themselves. While a New Zealander pensioner may feel little discomfort in having an ex-prisoner clean his foreskin, an American--especially a deeply religious one--would hold objections of the utmost vigor, especially when given by staff members of the opposite sex. A foreskin left uncleaned often leads to phimosis, which leads to a situation requiring the aforementioned therapeutic circumcision.

I ask you to look at the underlying social forces in place here, and not at my own squeamishness at such a procedure. When the proper ponderance of the situation has been appreciated, I'm sure you will then understand the complexities of the situation without thinking about Johann Bessler's personal feelings on the matter.

Do you really think old people are any less religious or squeamish here? Really?
You're still making sweeping statements on the behalf of millions based on anecdote. When you get old and debilitated, you face the humiliation of not being able to look after yourself.
Everyone ends up swallowing their pride and getting on with it.
They don't need surgery, just a bit of care - but you think (sorry, "you've heard") it's more sensible for the old guys get unnecessary and painful operations - hope they never have to change those bandages after the op (think of the penises, people).

Recently, my hubby told me that one of his patients got a c-diff infection after receiving an antibiotic from her dentist.
The infection gave here multiple episodes of diarrhea each day. She lived at home with around the clock caregivers.
The diarrhea would squirt up between her legs and into her vagina. The caregivers had to be instructed for proper cleansing in that area. Only one caregiver refused to do it and oddly enough it was a female caregiver.

Ok before you get on me for being judgemental it's just a personal preference but let me explain my reaction to SOME uncut dicks and see what people think about it. And also I am in NO WAY advocating circumcision so don't even go there.

When I see some uncut dicks I just can't help associating it with dick cheese and raunchy odours. It just seems unclean though in reality it probably isn't. Also, the appearance of the skin all wrinkly makes me think of an overcooked sausage where the bladder (wrapping) gets burst out. Not a great association when considering sucking such a cock. The association does have a certain amount of pustular clarity...



Now, not all uncut dicks elicit this reaction. I guess some are uncut but the skin is pretty well nice and flush with the rest of the cock so you don't get that bloated sausagey effect. So the rest of the associations that produce the adverse reaction don't follow. I think the nub of the issue here is the folding of the skin and the thought there may be putrescence underneath. Also the dick doesn't seem as sexy because the head is not clearly showing but this is the minor issue.

No way, I was cut as an infant and I am jealous of the uncut guys. They are so lucky. Foreskin is so beautiful, and protects the glans keeping it supple and moist. Us cut guys lose sensitivity because glans skin dries and keratinize’s.

Infant/child circumcision should be abolished. You should have the right to choose once you become of age. In the US circumcision is probably just a money scheme. First they charge to do it, then they charge other patients because they re-use the skin for other purposes.

New people haven't gone over this topic before so it is appropriate for it to come up with new people.

I grew up and went to school showers with people who were circumcised and thought it was normal, so the first time I saw an uncircumcised cock I thought it might be a birth defect. Since then I have seen many pictures of uncircumcised cocks and some look okay and a few don't. I'm sure it is a personal preference.
