Sorry, I missed this earlier. The title of this thread had me concerned that you were coming out to your mother to upset her. From the rest of the thread, it does not sound like that was the case.

The right reason? There's several but the top three-
  1. You've accepted it and you've come to terms with it
  2. You're tired of lying to people that you love
  3. You want to include the important people in your life in an important part of your life
