  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I got my Flu Shot. Did you get yours?

i havent gotten my flu shot yet....

in the meantime, i'm drinking Airborne like there's no tomorrow as a precaution

No, I have missed a couple of opportunities so far to get one. However, I will be getting one as I frequently volunteer at a free medical clinic. I got one there last year, but they might not be getting any at all. I will find one some way though. However, I have only ever gotten the flu once, and tamiflu is some pretty awesome stuff to use when you get it (or to prevent getting it like happened when my brother got it a few years ago). Hopefully I can get a flu shot instead of a flumist though, always better to get an inactive virus versus a live attenuated virus :).

Funny, yesterday in my pathophysiology class we were talking about hypogammaglobulanemia :).

Yes, we both got ours on 31 Oct........We always get the flu shot and seem NOT to have a bad case...

If you're afraid, because you think you will get the flu, don't, for the vaccine is much different than years ago, you will NOT get the flu!(*8*)

Had a check-up yesterday so the nurse was able to give me the shot while I was there - she's good, didn't feel a thing. Partner has a check-up next week and will get his as well.

I've never had a flu shot, and have never wanted one. I've always been very cutting-edge about which illnesses I catch, I never get the ones they have in the flu shot. But then I rarely catch the flu, anyway... I'm a head-cold person.

But the Grandmother always gets hers, when she does catch a flu it takes her weeks to recover from it; and if I were in one of the high-risk groups (health-care workers, education workers, compromised immune systems, the elderly, etc.) I certainly would submit to the needle.
