I had a dream I was driving, alone with Telstra, across Australia! (nightmare?)

It wasn't a bad dream really.

Let me tell you about it....

*musical piano/harp jingle*

*blurs/fades to white picture*

We were invited to a walking weekend, with eight people going, including us, and I was looking on a map planning a route inland to the meetup place. There were two possible roads, in south-east Australia, heading north/northeast inland from the coast, and I was VERY excited, as the map showed both roads had mountains, passes, scenery, etc....

....but we were late, and it was 10am and we hadn't even left, and I'd only allowed for 2 hours to get there (walk started at midday) which was just NOT enough time....

....and we both got texts/messages on our phones on the way there (Telstra's phone was a hi-tech pad/screen layout, mine was basic) asking us where we were, also telling us by text that two others had cancelled (one was G-Lexington) can't remember who the other was (possibly FPNY?)

....erm, then there was a surreal segway with a lady mayor of a town walking up the middle of a steep road with a lot of people, protesting at something or another, with me and others following her....

....erm, and then another surreal segway with a landslip in a forest area leaving a gap in a railway track's foundation, and a Hercules/Atlas like strongman was holding it up with his bare arms to let us continue....

....and then it was back in the car with Telstra, and another text saying two others (don't know who) were unlikely to be coming, so it was just four of us going to this walk now, and me realising we wouldn't be there until 6pm....

....and that's it. I woke up.

P.S....

There was (not surpising if you know me) a lot of geographical detail.

So my curiosity got the better of me....

My best guess, from my dream, for the roads we were driving on, would be....

421px-Location_Cobb_Hwy.svg.png

600px-Location_Newell_Hwy.svg.png

The Goulburn Valley Highway and the Newell Highway, in Victoria and New South Wales, the alternative road probably being the Cobb Highway to the west, although there's an off-chance it was the Olympic Highway to the east. ..|

The towns and cities we might have driven through, I'd say, were: - Bendigo, Echuca, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Albury, and Wagga Wagga.

Our destination, and the location of the walking weekend, was at a wild guess, possibly: - Hay, or Griffith, or West Wyalong. :gogirl:

Maybe one of the Aussie JUBbers can tell us more about the region. :)

That is the most profound question I've ever seen in Hot Topics.

Oh hang on...does he like fish custard?

Now...that's a nightmare...

I'm having a difficult time picturing a butt playing the banjo, sorry.

Did one of you remember to pack a bottle of travel size Scope?

You haven't told me, Telstra, if you've ever been to those towns and roads I've mentioned in my OP.

Have you ever been to that area?

and I was VERY excited, as the map showed both roads had mountains, passes, scenery, etc....

It is rather flat.

:o :o :o :o

Did one of you remember to pack a bottle of travel size Scope?

*looks up Wiki*

The Scope, a newspaper in St. John's, Newfoundland

Scope (Australian TV series), Australian series formerly on Network Ten, now on Australian TV network Eleven

Scope (magazine), a South African men's magazine

Scope (software), an acronym for Supervisory Control Of Program Execution, operating systems for Control Data Corporation mainframe computers

Scope (mouthwash), a mouthwash brand by Procter & Gamble

The green route you drew on the map, there is no such road lol

I never drew anything, they were already in the diagrams on the Wiki articles.

Click the links and tell me if you've ever been to any of the places.

....and now of course, inevitably....

....the song comes into my head....

....back from my childhood days, when I was only about 6 years old. *sigh*

Classic. :D

I've had dreams involving Jubbers before but when Telly starts showing up I may need to reevaluate how much time I spend here. :dead:
