  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

I had NO trick-or-treaters!

We never get many trick-or-treaters on my street. It's a small culdesac with no street lights and majority of the home-owners are senior citizens. Instead I went to a friends house in a different part of town this year. We dressed up and visited a few neighbors, said hi, got some candy. Then it was back to the house for 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Both movies were mediocre, and not scary, but we got into a loooong discussion afterwards in the dark talking about fears, phobias, nightmares, you name it.

Needless to say, I could barely drive home because I kept looking behind me to see if there was some(one/thing) sitting in my back seat. I practically ran up to my door and was flipping out because the porch light wasn't on, and I couldn't find the damn keyhole! Oh well, I made it safe in my room after turning on every light in the house and pissing everyone else off in the process because I guess they were sleeping. Too bad.

Okay! All you people with the extra candy! Send it my way! I have a very big chocolate fetish & all this talk about candy is driving me up the wall. To bad I can't trick or treat anymore!:D

No problem with neighborhood kids with parents that you know or have seen around, but, these days, it's more the kids with pushy parents that you've never seen before and never see again. So you're not missing much.

I didn't have any kids either .... next year I'll have to take down the sign on my front door 'Hungry pit bull .... don't show fear, whatever you do!'

I ignored the Door Bell. They all went away quickly.

This is Australia. We are speaking of an American tradition which has been taught by schools for the past 15 yrs, so that it is starting here.

I'm sorry to hear that piggy(*8*) but, don't feel to bad..i didn't have any either.
The weird thing is i usually get 'em every year.
Are parents taking their kids elsewhere thesedays?..I've spoke to a couple of relatives of mine and, they've both told me the same thing.."no trick or treaters this year"!!

I've lived in apartments or condos for years and haven't had any kids at the door in decades.

It's a little surprising--the atmosphere is so safe, no weather problems, and they could score so much in so little time.

Yeah...in most cases, apartment complexs don't do the door to door trick or treat. If they did, the management would inform you.

This was my first year in my new home..
I was warned that there was always a lot of trick or treaters.

I always give those little boxes of raisins.... I bought 20 6 packs...and was out at 7:15...

I shut the lights off...and pulled the drapes

I'm lying here in near diabetic coma smeared with Reeses Peanut Butter cups. We always know no one is going to come to our farmhouse door...............and we still buy candy.

Sorry, must lie down.....dizzy...............

Sorry to hear that P. Maybe next year.

We had a few who really dressed up for the night. I'm amazed at how small their hands are when they outstretch them for the sweets. If it's any consolation, we've got plenty of toffees and mints left too. They'll be gone nigh around Guy Fawkes/Bonfire's Night, yum yum...

I had less kids than normal. Probably half as many this year. I'm really not sure why. I bought around $80-$90 of candy and probably around 30% of it is left. I normally need to go out and get more candy.

I'm hoping that dkonfrost can give it away when he goes to the hospital tomorrow.

What's wrong with giving kids raisins? Sounds like a fine idea to me.

I never buy Halloween candy, and I keep the lights off so that no one will come. In case of emergency, I do have some Japanese gummy candy, and I got a bag of really bad candy a work yesterday - which I will now throw away. I'm not going to buy candy that I would not buy for myself. I do, however, make candy at Christmas - Chocolate Turtles and Toffee.
