So, last night a few of my friends and I decided to have a scary movie night. And normally scary movies don't get to me much, but lately I've been a little more jumpy. And on top of that we totally psyched ourselves out, and we *wanted* be freaked out so I think that at some subconscious level we all just chose to get into it.
Anyway...
So first we watched the first Halloween movie. Now, I have seen this movie like at least 10 or so times. Regardless, it still scared the shit out of me, and totally played into my huge fear of masked figures. So by the end of it, I was completely terrified.
Next we watched The Poltergeist. I had never seen this one before, and it was pretty scary but not as much as the first, but it wasn't really playing into my fears like Halloween did. About halfway though my friend Brian's mom, knowing that we are all really into the scary movie thing, decides to pop out from behind the couch. And that was terrifying. I started screaming and throwing my arms around and eventually jumped from the couch all the way across the living room. It was really intense.
So we go back to watching the movie, and it is all fine and not that scary after what just happened. And then the movie has this ridiculous scene that scares the shit out of me (to the point that I stopped breathing for a good minute or two). This clown doll disappears and then attacks the little boy from behind!!! So that played into my number one fear, which is clowns, and got me all super freaked out again.
So after that movie, we all get in the car to be taken home. My boyfriend and I get out of the car at my place and start walking to the door and this cat runs out from inside my parents porch.
I literally just started screaming and running back down my driveway, hoping to god that I could catch Brian's car and save myself from the Michael Meyers/ Clown hybrid that clearly wanted to kill me. Kyle, in an effort to keep me from running down my street screaming, just tackled me, and we both fell to the ground (the whole side of my body is scraped up and what not) and I started screaming even more sharply until I realized that it was Kyle and not the killer.

Seriously, what the fuck???? I am pretty sure I am going to need intensive counseling after this.

Ugh, I hate clowns. I worked at a coffee shop and on halloween we were supposed to give candy to all of the little kids that came by. And I literally went and hid in the back room 7 or so times because a little clown person would come in and I would start hyperventilating.

Oh poor dee-do. Aww Papi, let me hug you. You poor thing. :(

OK, yeeeaaahhh: NO MORE HORROR MOVIES FOR YOU.

Seriously.

If they make you that crazy, you need to avoid them. They're terrible movies anyway.

I can't watch horror movies period. And I try to avoid gore movies, but I always get sucked into watching them. I'm 18 and they still give me nightmares #-o. I have a pretty intense imagination and my nightmares are extremely realistic..and they feel like they last forever.

I'll be fifty in less than a week. I have nightmares and haunting thoughts even from the commercials for horror movies. Slasher movies, that is. Monster movies don't seem to bother me so much.

I hate the people who made the Saw movies. I hope they all die screaming in terror and pain.

Worse things happen in real life.

But by the time we found out about them, the people have generally been caught. I know that horrible things happen in real life, but I don't need to be assaulted by the sight of people begging for their lives during commercial breaks for otherwise-harmless shows.

Well I don't hate them, but I wouldn't mind if someone destroyed every existing copy of all of the films. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in the nightmare realm, though ;). The Final Destination Films, Death Sentence, 28 Weeks Later, and The Hills Have Eyes are just a few movies that gave me horrible nigthmares. 28 Weeks Later had me messed up for a while .

You should probably just stop ever watching horror movies, as I have. You have a sensitive spirit, and you will lose that sensitivity if you keep exposing your mind to horrors. I'm completely serious. Use your empathy (which, like mine, is in excess of the optimal level for happiness) to help your fellow humans.

Oh, and being hyperempathic will make you a better lay, if you use it in bed! So stop watching horror movies NOW.

To avoid being scared when watching horror movies, just imagine there are camera men, directors, lighting people, sound people, makeup artists ... etc on the other side.
