I am so pissed off by Itunes 9!!! I want 8 back!!! My whole library is all fucked up with freezing and stalling!!! Than last night Itunes 9.0.1 or whatever popped up for installation. I was hoping it would get the bugs out but no luck. I tried looking up how to return to Itunes 8 but it looks crazy complicated and to much work. Why does Itunes continuously fiddle with a good thing?! I am beyond mad. I have a shit load of music and I can't even scroll down my library!!!!!!

personally i have no problem with the new iTunes. it actually seems to load a *bit* faster when i first open it up, as opposed to 7 or 8, which is about 10 seconds less waiting time for me to finally get to my precious music, so i'm happy with that.

the only thing i have a problem with is their 'genius' mixes/playlists. nothing ever really goes together (but thats not a problem with the whole program, so it doesn't really matter).

not sure what keeps freezing for you, but i haven't had any problems like that so far. what are you doing when it freezes?

It's killing my poor old computer... but it's soooo prettyyyy

no problems for me. i do agree that genius playlist is a bit confused. i did one for rock for my ipod touch, and it plays all new wave. wtf?

Ah yes, iTunes and Quicktime. Two reasons I'm hesitating getting a Mac, just like Microsoft shoves its software upon us, I don't like Apple doing the same.

Neither will I install iTunes on my Windows system.

You haven't experienced the joys of running a computer that's completely Microsoft-free — unless MS secretly owns the free plug-in Flip4Mac that plays Windows media through QuickTime, the Perian plug-in that allows QuickTime to play a boatload of other codecs and the free NeoOffice that kicks MS Word to the curb.

Damn, I wish I understood even one word of that, lol. All I know is I love Mac. I just hate all the updates with Itunes. I bet right now they are putting together Itunes 9.5.

I have been using it on my two computers have not experienced any of those problems??

Quicktime isn't just the media player; that's the part that you see. Quicktime is the ENTIRE media layer for OS X. And, like Windows, you can use any media player you'd like.

One small point, too; iTunes on windows is COMPLETE shit compared to the Mac version. For whatever reason, the windows version is slow, buggy, and can't play videos for shit. Really, I know it may be hard to believe, but the Mac version is a completely different user experience.

iTunes (for windows) is such a resource hog... I wouldn't at all recommend it. There is plenty of other choices that do the same job with half the resources... Even WMP 11 is better IMO.

I enjoy the pleasures of being Apple free personally.

I love having choice.

for windows xp
Usually you can move one of the 2 database files to the desktop. If that doesn't help try the other one. Trashing the plist file will probably make you lose your playlists so read the KB article first. Have you updated any iTunes plug-ins?

On my Mac it is using between 1 and 8% of the cycles and is one of the heaviest cpu loads and sharing that position is Windows Live IM which doesn't even support video on the Mac. 14 apps are running at the moment.

No problems for me; in fact, iTunes 9 has been quite a treat so far. ..|

if u can save all ur music to a folder uninstall it then google itunes 8
just everytime u start it will ask if u like to upgrade
just a simple no then it wont bother you again intill u close and reopen it
i think i have 9 and it hasnt bother me really

That's odd. Do you mean the iTunes Music Store that has trouble scrolling?

If so than I can understand that. You have to go to the far right side to scroll in iTunes 9 Store.

As for the library. I had that problem alot in iTunes 8 with the slow lag of scrolling through my music library. But it seems fixed. Although I did upgrade to Snow Leopard. That might be part of it.

But I am really enjoying iTunes 9. I kinda like the new style and I like how more music, apps, and movies are displayed.

And I LOVE THE iTunes LP's. Those are so cool. I wasn't alive to know what LP's really were but I suppose I have a little idea now. It just seems like you get more content with iTunes now instead of buying the CD's. I like the artist created LP's and the bonus content you get with it. And that's aside from bonus tracks, b-sides or demos.

One problem I have noticed with the new iTunes is that for some reason it doesn't get artwork for legit and physical CD's that I buy at the store anymore. I bought some recent CD's this week and it doesn't recognize them.

I think that because of iTunes doing "Deluxe", "Special Edition", "Bonus Track" and versions like that it gets confused with a normal version of a CD. For an older CD I bought which has no special or bonus versions on iTunes seemed to get the artwork fine. Either that or iTunes isn't going to give artwork for current CD releases anymore and wants you to buy for them.

The interesting thing is that it still works with genius when I update that.

And on the genius subject since I heard talk of it. It helps to have tons of different genres on your computer and lots of music.

It works GREAT for me. It can tell the different between pop, punk, rock, metal, grunge, and so forth too. However, it doesn't work for every song. And if the album or song you have doesn't sound similar to anything else (according to iTunes judgement) than it won't do a genius playlist.

But when Genius works it really is cool.

I'm sorry that it's not working for you though. I haven't updated to 9.1 yet.

I heard of this. Amazon's way to get people to download music. It sounds pretty clever.

Have you tried using it andysayshi?
