I hate to say this, but...

Chrome is faster and very neat. But it lacks pop-up ad protection (at least I haven't figured it out?).........

Have you looked at Adblock Plus for Chrome ?

Adblock Plus, the most popular Firefox extension, is also available for the Google Chrome browser. "Block all ads automatically, no distractions, Browse faster and safer...."

Yes, I have it installed, but I find it very lacking. It fails to block many things on some of the sites I visit, and when I attempt to add them manually, it tries to take out stuff that I don't want blocked. It's not very user friendly. And many of the pop-up ads don't get blocked, either. Firefox is the best for ad blocking.

I mainly use Chrome myself and IE9. Yeah IE has got alot better.

FF has become not so good for me. But will give it another try on next version.

P.S. That IE users are dumber was a hoax.

I switched over to Chrome last year from IE. It tool IE forever, it seemed, to render a page. I found Chrome to be much faster. I have not looked back since switching.

It isn't hanging and crashing like the beta version did.

I mainly use IE 9 but I use Firefox 5 for browsing JUB Galleries page because IE 9 won't center the enlarged photos on my screen, leaving part of the photo below viewing area.

Why is there always some problem with Mircosoft? I know it isn't all their fault but damn.

That is just marketing scams so people won't use it to not feel dumb, and steer you somewhere else.

I've been using Chrome for over a year and find it be faster on my old desktop. (It's old...has XP) I can't tell that Chrome is faster on my laptop. (It has Vista).

I've run into one strange thing with Chrome. I wanted to watch Torchwood. But, I don't have Starz. You can watch Starz east coast feed through Netflix. But, it doesn't work with Chrome, I have to use IE to watch it.

^ That's "normal" behavior, vulgar. Pretty much all browsers now do that.

The intent is to optimize the browsing experience over a slow connection. The browser "knows" which tab you have open, and will try to selectively download the data for that tab. Since you're not looking at the video in another tab, the browser figures you're not interested, and will stop downloading the video data in favor of downloading the stuff in the tab you have open.

If your connection were fast enough, you probably wouldn't notice that effect. With a fast connection, the browser can download data for unopened tabs in the background, even as it loads the data for the tab you have open. But, we tend to have slower connections in the USA than most of the rest of the world, so optimizing downloads for the open tab can be helpful behavior.

Thanks T-Rexx, interesting as I never noticed it like this with previous IE8 or earlier and don't notice it to the same degree on Firefox. But it makes sense.
I would think that my download of 9.75 -10 mbps would be decent enough but I know that I can't or will not pay the $80.00 a month for what Time Warner calls "wide band", I'm not a gamer nor net flix movie streamer.
