I have an interesting Questions ...

You are absolutely right. I attached the wrong link. This was the list I intended to include:

Of course there are many private companies as well that are over a century old.

I was going to make a thread on the oldest companies in the world, pointing out how many of them are in Japan.....

... implying that Japan is the cradle of capitalism?

Because of the bible,
are there any company older than the bible ?
Civilization is older than the bible.

No idea if it has its roots in German baking, but some of the best pastries are from the Germans and their neighboring regions.

Dude!

My favorite trivia question: "do German Chocolate Cakes comes from Germany?"

50285723

Just had that as one of my "facts" in the fun fact thread

Its roots can be traced back to 1852 when American baker Samuel German developed a type of dark baking chocolate for the Baker's Chocolate Company. The brand name of the product, Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate, was named in honor of him.

My brother was supposedly descended from a man whose last name was Germany. Wasn't uncommon at one time.

It seems 100 years is not unusual in many branches. Like luxury handbags. Reading an article on the BBC website just now, I came across this segment:

Handbags made by Hermes, the French luxury goods house, are the most sought-after.

Rachel Koffsky, a specialist in handbags and accessories at Christie's, says Hermes handbags "have been crafted in the same way, in the same materials for decades, whereas many other brands have been inconsistent in production over the past 100 years".

They don't seem to be surprised there are many brands that have been around so long.
