Although a little flea bomb residue is not going to kill you, avoid it as much as possible. It's nerve poison. I'm sure there are greener ways[google it]; but a flea bomb is convenient. And you can use it as an excuse for some socializing--as in, "can I use your floor tonight? My room is being fumigated for fleas."
 
D-Con makes a flea bomb that "is to die for", No, really, it is very good and it lasts a long time. Do you have pets? If the fleas come from another apartment the apt. manager should be responsible for fumigating your apartment.

This is not a bomb! I work for Orkin and use the product with plenty of success. Your infestation is most likely in the carpet. You can use this on the carpet and upholstery with ease.
 
If I find one on me I like to squish it with my nails and break it's shell or just drown it.
