I have some work I can do at home later this afternoon so I am taking it with me and grabbing a nap after lunch. Maybe I will develop some impetus later.

I have come home, made a hot buttered bourbon with honey, taken a painkiller for my broken ankle and intend to catch up on some of the sleep I missed last night, after which I will be bright as a shiny button and write 3 sections of my report that I have been procrastinating over.
 
When I get stressed from work and I need a break before I hit the wall I turn on HOARDERS and watch as many episodes as I have to before I snap back. I think I know all of their names now:LOL: - seen each one maybe 15-20 times but hey - it works (y)
 
So this week, I still feel really dragged out from the cold I have had over the last 2 weeks...I have almost zero motivation to do anything more than just fuck around on JUB and going through the motions of keeping everyone on the project team going on several projects.

I really haven't felt like this for a while and it seems that no amount of sleep is helping.

If I didn't have to prep for a couple of meetings again for tomorrow...I would just lie and tell everyone that I am going to go home to work and then go for a nap.

I'm mentally there, too. I have an end-of-year report to do for my conservation work, and all I really have to do is copy last year's and update the info, but my mind just sort of sits in idle when I even think about it. The crazy thing is that I've been sleeping better than usual but my brain apparently isn't getting benefits from it -- and even my body can lose energy all at once if I encounter anything discouraging.

It's bizarre because like two days ago I wrote a two-page essay on the politics involved in the Council of Chalcedon and just breezed through it, but I can't make my mind function for a simple report and some other paperwork!

I napped so long that I got nothing done except playing with our new kitten-cat Missy, who had napped with me.

Now we are waiting for our bacon-squash risotto for supper and not giving a shit about 50 emails that have piled up,

But I do feel a little better after the rest. The rib(s) I cracked from coughing last week seem to be calmer this late afternoon.

I usually think that if you're that tired you must be sick and a nap is just the right thing. The fact that you (your ribs) are recuperating seems to verify it.
