I'm a re-gifter. !oops!

But why not? Is that bad? Why not pass on a nice gift that you received and will never use?

It's bad simply in the fact that it's often very lazy. Many regifters think "Well, I have this person I need to give a gift for, and I have this thing I'll never use, so I'll give it to them." This without thinking (or caring) whether the gift will be something the person will want, like, or need. (Much like the person who gave YOU the gift.)

I regift too...back to the person who gave me that useless gift last year. :grrr: They should have asked for my "What I want for Christmas" list. Then get me things that I want or meaningful to me...like a Ferrari.

That's funny. I never regift to a person who gave me something useless. I just defriend the bitch.

Between the 27th and 30th of Dec., my friend holds a "Shovunda" party.

Everyone brings a gift that they received that was destined to be Shoved Under The Bed.

You would not believe some of the crap people get. It's truly hysterical and one of my favorite get togethers.

I regift too but very rarely. Mostly because hardly anyone I know actually gift me anything. Such cheap skate friends I have.

I thought you meant you were 're-gifting' something else.

!oops!

See? I'm a more terrible person than you are.

Now that is an exaggeration. A very small percentage of the population actually has the intent to actually go out and infect someone. So small to be a concern to the average guy.

someone tried to do that to me some years ago giving me something that they didn't want to me thinking i wouldn't know. doesn't surprise me though because that girl at the time was a total asshole towards me for NO reason. like it's hard to tell that it's some hand me down shit because it's not shrinkwrapped and it's open.

I'm not a terrible person but I and all my friends follow the Methodist idea of showing our appreciation directly rather than buy consumer goods

I have no hate for re-gifters because at least they'd rather pass the gift on to someone that might need it and use it VS putting it away and letting it collect Dust...

I've never re-gifted and I'm about 99% certain I never will...When I give a gift to anyone I put thought into it even if the Gift is Cash. I always say you should Always give a person your Best and not your whatever...

About time! Thank you! Man, some of you guys are harsh. [-X It's not like I dump shit on the closest available relative, I do actually put some thought into it. It's just that I'm a huge fan of thr three R's. Reduce, reuse and recycle. The gifts are ones that I've rec'd but can't really use, so I pass them on. One year I passed on a brand new 10 piece set of Maglite flash lights that I rec'd but could never use. The next person just loved them. For our wedding we rec'd like 5 Kitchen Aid mixers. What are we gonna do with 5? Gave em' out for Christmas the next year! Cuisineart Food processors? Same! One time my poor mother bought 4 sewing machines in one year and didn't return any of them. Guess what we did with them? Yup! Crystal glasses, serving trays, flatware, What the hell am I gonna do with it all? I give it to people who need and appreciate it. Why waste my money when I have tons of the stuff.

And if my 24 y/o cousin doesn't like the old brides maid dress we gave him last year, too bad! :p

I don't regift. If it's something I really don't want, I'll donate it to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Just makes sure the recipient doesn't know. It kinda hurts when you think the thing you are giving me is crappy.
