Do any complications come with this?

Every time I try to go to sleep I can't unless I'm so sleepy from staying up all night. Sometimes during the daytime, I crash out on my bed because I get sleepy.
Sometimes I have temporarily fixed this insomnia problem by staying up all night, then going to sleep at an earlier time the next day.

I use to have that problem.....
I use to stay up all night and didn't sleep until during early in the morning or during the day. What changed my habits is limiting my sleeping hours and having the endurance to stay up all day until I was worth out to sleep at night. If you keep this up for a week or 2, you'll insomnia won't be such as a big problem. It worked for me, hopefully it'll do the same for you.

omg, thats happening to me right now..
I HAVENT HAD SLEEP in over 5 days..
might as well try sleepin meds (strong meds)

What has changed in your life during the past few weeks - if anything? (Personally or at work )?

Like you write - excessive daytime sleepyness is the most common complication from lack of good night time sleep (also be a little more careful if driving).

Like you write skipping a nights sleep and getting to bed earlier the next day might get you back into your normal sleep pattern.

Daytime sleeping is only going to make the problem worse! (are you in betweens jobs since you can sleep in the daytime - lack of daytime activities or exercise can make it harder to fall asleep.

Getting good sleep depends on many factors - a balance between activity and rest. Temperature in your bedroom?
having a bedtime ritual = slowing down - not drinking caffeinated drinks after 7 PM - brushing your teeth, skincare, a shower or bath? Sex/Masturbation?

One thing that might help is a stricter sleep scedule - get up at the same time every day (Allow yourself to sleep more just one day of the week if you need it) set the alarm clock at the same time every day and get up - don't snooze ...

You can try drinking some hot milk Sweetened with honey or sweet and Low or other sugar substitutes - Before you brush your teeth. Next step might be trying a natural herbal med. Valerian root taken one hour before your normal bedtime - can be bought at healthfood stores or nutrional supplement aisles at the most supermarkets:

Hope you get back in Sync soon!

We often here people say, "I can't sleep" but often further questioning, we discover that they're not sleeping at night and then fall asleep during the day or at an early time at night.

Sleep is part of a cycle that your body develops. When you get off that cycle and sleep during the day and go to bed at different times, it disturbs that cycle.

Try not to sleep during the day. No caffeine after noon. Try to avoid computer and television for an hour before you go to bed- try to read in a darkened room instead. Over the course of the next week, try to go to bed and wake up at the same time (yes, even on weekends). This will get you back into your regular sleep pattern again.

I've been suffering from insomnia ever since I was 10 years old. I can't have a regular sleep pattern whatever I do.
