I heard parachute pants were coming back in fashion

I can tell you right now that fashion from the 80s is coming back fast...but better! And I'm so excited! Just look what they are wearing on the European TV show (Skins, e.g.).

In two years, it will be all over America. I'm trying to get ahead of the curve for a change. I just bought a red rubber belt from tie-ups.it to go with the Obey shirt with matching skinny tie attached.

Also got a shiny Diesel jacket that looks a bit similar to those Members Only jackets only more better and some really skinny faded/distressed jeans! Now that's what I call an outfit.

Jake Ryan better get here fast. I'm just waiting for the day...

Can't wait to get more!

Anyone getting their "fats" ready for the summer:

Still looking for my corduroy OP shorts and Izod shirts - collar popped of course. Rollin' old school baby!!! Wonder if my old neighbors still have their pimpin 1984 Oldsmobile 98 Regency with the crushed velvet interior?

I saw jackets similar to that one at a couple of stores in Paris on my trip this past February. I was tempted to get one because they reminded me of the 80's (what little I can remember) I decided against buying one because in the end I though it looked more cheap/ugly than cute/quirky and I thought I would look out of place wearing it. Plus I had already bought a couple of new coats for my trip and living in Miami I don't really need much winter wear. I will really hate myself if they come back in style and I didn't get one.

FOUND EM!!!! Found the OP shorts and popped Izod shirt. Nothing cooler than corduroy shorts in the middle of the summer at the Jersey Shore!!! WTF were we thinking then????

It's your style and you have every right to express yourself, (isn't that an 80's song?) dispite what... anyone else might think but pwease pwease pwease don't pop the collar on any of those shirts.

Popping the collar is a sign that you respect and feel good about yourself. At least that's what my Korean friends tell me.

Regardless, I think the new and improved 80s clothes will have the collars already popped and there won't be a thing you can do about it with the space age materials available nowadays.

;)

Oh man...instead of looking for a new car like I am now, I should be looking for one of those old glamorous road boats from the 80s! Wonder what an old Lincoln Town Car from that area would require in the way of maintenance. Gas...I can safely assume 1 to 2 MPG. Hehe!

What smooth rides they were, though...

Ah...if you are living in Miami then you wouldn't really need many jackets I suppose. I'm in Seattle and just counted mine the other day (cuz I think I'm moving) and I have over 12! You really need to have one for each outfit here because since the weather is so terrible, the jacket pretty much becomes part of the outfit.

The above jacket is on sale ($125) online. It's very light, but if you like it, this might be better for Miami. Also on sale ($85). The back of it is a little garish, but...

Get over yourself kid. He has every right to keep it short and sweet - if you don't like it, you can very well fuck off.

Oops, i didn't realize my flame was on... i knew it wasn't the tea... ](*,)

I'm just sayin...

What does "Ew" mean. To which post is it directed? If you have an opinion, state it clearly. "Ew" with no context means nothing to me.

I'm just sayin...

Don't judge me! Don't be a hater! And cut the flames down. You're gonna set off the fire alarms. :D

It may have been aimed at the topic and not a particular post. That may simply have been his opinion of parachute pants.

Oh, I don't know. It worked for some guys.

I hated that show with the 'cute' kids.

I have a knock off version that I've been wearing for months.

Actually those cars got GPM - Gallons Per Mile,:gogirl: not miles per gallon. And yeah - the ride on those land yachts was surreal and the seats were more comfortable than most couches.

Maintaining those old canoes - being that they are turning about 25 could be tons - probably have to start replacing stuff that just simply wore out.
