Since my Mum's death this place has been a God send to me and i thank you all for your friendship and warmth over the last few months, hell over the last few years really, sadly some of the joy has went out of this place and i really can't be arsed posting too much anymore, the thrill has gone.


Some of you have been here since Adam was a lad, how do you keep it up ?
 
It helps to reincarnate from time to time.

As for the mods, I don't have any solution. You have more problems with their interference than you do any detractors.

I will say it helps to focus on the friends and put the horseflies on ignore and occasionally beat the shit verbally out of the morons who need to be rebutted.

The MODS are the least of my concerns, though they've still not deleted that thread in the religious forum. #-o

Maybe it's just general boredom from the Covid lock downs. I admire your staying power Jase.

I think it is still worth wasting some of my life on.

I enjoy the interaction with a group of people I have come to know over nearly 15 years and sharing ideas, opinions, stories, arguments and nonsense with. Other social media just doesn't compare...clicking a like icon...or dropping a comment on a page...none of these are really that satisfying.

It is still the closest I have to a local pub....living out in the Canadian wilderness as we do.

The year my parents died was pretty tough. I remember feeling restless and just bottled up. This was one of the outlets that helped me through the first year...even without me really talking about it. I am so sorry that you lost your mum....and with a year upside down from a pandemic, it can just amplify a sense of loss and disengagment. It certainly has been harder to find the joy in many things this year.

I would say, don't lose heart ....keep adding threads to HT and posting in the others.
 
Have you ever been on hold on the phone for so long that when someone finally takes your call it takes you a couple of seconds to realize that they are talking to you?

That's how I've been for the last couple of months. I forget that I can talk too.:)
 
I originally came to this site for the pictures and then came to the forum for the variety of experiences and opinions expressed. I had no gay friends and it was enlightening. I don't look at the pictures as much anymore and the discussions are more normal to me now so less interesting, but I still don't have gay friends to discuss topics with and still am glad to have this site to come to, to hear the different sides of topics that I don't get in my the rest of my life.

When i originally found this site I didn't even know about he porn in the non-forums section (photos-videos). I'm old and retired now and have only had a couple of gay friends since around 2000 and one of those was Bi and it was easier for him to chase and bed women. So he was only FWB when he was single or otherwise not attached. The other friend moved away in about 2006 and a couple years later moved a couple States further away. It just wasn't the same talking on the phone. Now we have grown apart. So, I too have not had any real life gay friends since about 2010, which was when I first joined this forum.

I can remember the first few years that I avoided HT and just browsed the "gay" sections of the forum. I wasn't interested back then in the chit-chat (in HT's) that was not full on "gay related sex talk." Now as i have gotten older I spend most all my time here in HT and just scan the other sections when I got all caught up here in HT's. I'm a member of dozens of other forums that has to do with all kinds of topics (like homeowner help, computer help, electronics, lawn care, etc) but none of the other forums do I spend any time in their HT type sections...only here on JUB.

I do miss having a in person friend to hang out with an talk about all-things-gay. And not to mention I'm getting no d**k in this rural community.
