Well you could of went to the interview and shown little or no enthusiasm towards the job, at least that way your don't feel that bad about not really wanting it and if they did hire you simply say thank you but I've been accepted elsewhere
But thats only if you really don't want the job

I don't think your crazy. You know what your time and effort is worth. I guess the only question is how long can you hold out till your able to get what you want? Opportunity abounds, you just have to be on the look out constantly.

Oh I am. Believe me. :)

Right now I'm "ok."

The issue will arise next year when taxes are due.

I just have to give it time. Something will happen.

Self employed=no taxes till the due date?

Glad to see your actively involved in the resolution though, nothing worse than seeing good people stick their head in the sand when confronted with life. I know so many that have just given up.

Well, right now a job is a job - no matter how much it sucks the life out of you.

I'm sorta dreading mine tomrrow, oh well, i'll have to muddle through it

Transpogue, if you can't face the prospect of working in a mall department store, don't do it...

There's nothing worse than being caught in a job you hate going to and hate doing.

Yeah, I know that money is money, and sometimes you have to take jobs like that, but it sounds to me right now, based on your other posts, that you are not in dire straits. And it is a second job....

Hold out for something better, that you know you will be more suited to.

I job you truly hate - can make you physically ill - so better you skipped out on it.
But -- there is always a but --
at least you have ONE job - that's more than a lot of people can say these days..

Retail is far, far, far, far, far down my list of 'acceptable' jobs when I decide what's next for me. Low pay, you gotta be happy all the time, the stupid customers, and from what I gather how the industry has changed the last 10 years, NEVER enough staff to get the work done. And as soon as you get some of it done, Management changes their minds, probably based on the hourly computer report, and you have to do it all over again. :bartshock

I'll go do custodial work before going back to retail.

I go by the "pit of the stomach" feeling.

Once I got a job I'd tried months to get, great benefits and opportunity for advancement.

But driving to it, those first two weeks, I kept getting this "feeling", a dread in my innards.

I just had to quit. I went back to my previous job and truly enjoyed myself.
