I just got CRABS (pubic lice)-- is my boyfriend cheating on me?

I just found out that I have crabs (pubic lice). i've been with my boyfriend for six months in a committed relationship. Could this mean that I got it from him and that he is cheating on me?? I don't see how else i could have gotten crabs..

please help!

Or did you spend a night in a hotel? I got mine from a hotel while I was traveling at one time.

most internet sources tell you that this is highly unlikely as the buggies have no way to hold onto a toilet seat. However, I got them once during a particularly asexual time in my life and I can't imagine having gotten them any other way but by the toilet seat at work.

While stationed on a Buoy Tender when I was young, 18 of us slept in a room about 25 feet by 12 feet, on cots that were attached to floor to ceiling poles, stacked three high. We literally slept head-to-toe, arm-to-arm, butt-to-butt..............one guy got infested with crabs.......within one week........WE ALL WERE INFECTED!
One guy, after vigorous scratching around his balls for days, tried using the alcohol in Acqua Velva

Don't panic; just buy a bottle or Rid which you can pick up over the counter. I might also help you to trim back you pubes so those critters will have less area to feed.

As for the boyfiend, do you notice him itching his crotch? That would be a sign if you suspect him.

And the next time you are with him in the nude, check out his crotch for some red spots where crabs leave their mark.

Good luck on both the cure and the "search."

Regardless of whether or not you caught them from your boyfriend it's really important that you let him know you have crabs. If he's guilty it will probably be self-evident. If not, he has the same right as anyone else to information that effects his physical well-being. Unless you both treat yourselves theres the risk of reinfection.

Wash your bed linen and underwear in very hot water. Shaving helps dispose of the eggs that are attached to the hair. Don't forget to treat eyebrows and under-arm hair too.

I copped a dose when I was in my late teens during a particularly promiscuous period of my life. I was a total "beat whore" in those days and indulged in lots of anonymous, unprotected sex in all sorts of unsavoury places (pre AIDS, mind!). It's a miracle really, that a dose of 'crabs' was all I did get. As to how I got them I have no idea. I do remember, though, the doctor telling me that you can pick them up just as easily from a public toilet seat as you can from direct person to person contact. So, could've been either way with me! !oops! I think I'd scratched my nutsac for about a week till it was red raw before I realized what the problem was. I had to use a special shampoo ('Quellada', I think was the brand name) every day for a few days to get rid of the little buggers.

desks, if you've not had any sexual contact with anyone but your bf for the last six months, then it is likely that you were infected by him. However, it is possible that you could have been infected via a contaminated toilet seat or even by sleeping in a bed that others have slept in.

In college me and a lesbian friend got them from sitting on someone's bed who has them. Than another friend got them from a dorm bed that had them from the person who lived in the dorm prior to her. Another friend had them and was staying with his grandma and she got them from the toilet seat. Crabs are so easy to catch and it doesn't mean he cheated. Tanning beds also carry crabs. But I found rid x alone wasn't enough to remove them. You have to shave, use a mirror, and pick them off one by one. Than you have to squeeze them till they pop or they will live off your body for a week. Than put everything(clothes,bedding) in garbage bags for two weeks. They will die inside the bag. I use to wear a watch and one was under the watch on my arm since it was sweaty under my watch. I could have shook someone's hand and passed crabs along! It's a huge undertaking to get rid of them. I have seen so many people get them and I have had them twice. Okay 3 times but don't judge me!!! LOL.

Relax either you or he could have picked them up in different ways. David and I picked them up a few years ago from a pit toilet at a camp ground. It happens. These little buggers are cleaver and it on takes one to start an infestation cycle. Get the lotion. Do the Laundry spray the bed and you will need to do both of your homes at the same time if you don't live together. But you need to be open and talk about it with him.
 
After reading this thread I don't think I'm going to sit down in public ever again!!

Now things have taken a turn for the worse because we are both accusing one another of cheating and both stressing that we have not done anything wrong.
I really want to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that it came from some dirty sheets, or a trip or something (we have both been on seperate trips the past two months). But its annoying that sex is one of the top causes for crabs because its so hard to trust one another now even if he is innocent!

Did you both vacation somewhere prior to this outbreak? A night in a motel/hotel.......sleepover at a friends home? Even sitting on an infected sofa together at a friend's home........
Even petting an infected dog/cat? Infected clothing..........more

Okay so now you both have crabs.

The first and I only time that I had crabs I got during a "dry spell" sex wise. Meaning that I wasn't having sex with anyone, and I wasn't in a relationship.

Chances are good that you gave your BF crabs, or that he in fact gave them to you.

The best thing to do is think about where the two of you might have picked them up.

You can literally get them from any public surface; toilet seats, anywhere we're someone who has crabs had previously sat.

So it's entirely possible that both of you are telling the truth.

Now the two of you need to help each other out in getting rid of them.

Don't jump to the worse possible conclusion, and good luck they're a bitch to get rid of.

I ended up shaving completely down there, and using Qwill as directed.
