I know I shouldn't be, but I'm now genuinely scared of a Trump presidency

Life still goes on no matter whoever wins the election and becomes the president. When Obama run in 2008 people said he wasn't going to win he was going to get killed and people said they were going to move to other countries. 8 years later we are still sitting here.

So now it is his fault she is a criminal? He made her a criminal? He caused her to send top secrets by private email? He caused her to play for pay? Oh, what a tangled web you weave when first you practise to decieve.

As for his ability, no liberal thought he could do what he has done so far. Maybe he is the change we need.

Except she hasn't been found to have done any of that.

In the meanwhile you're backing a former bankrupt to run the country.

It was difficult. We had zero progress on LGBT rights at the federal level for eight years.

and the rich got richer (VASTLY richer) while the poor stayed poor and the middle class shrunk.
Except for Trump, of course, who made HIS money by fucking over all his stoopid investors....... :grrr:

Isn't the US government set up so that a president can't go on a tyrannical rampage? Everyone thinks Trump becoming president will turn the USA into Nazi Germany on steroids, but people really need to stop overreacting.

Personally, the main reason why I hope Trump doesn't win is because I predict a huge bloodbath; there will be severe rioting everywhere, and I have some very good friends in the US who I don't want to get hurt.

I also expect an influx of Americans coming to Canada to escape Trump. Don't disappoint me this time! I'm still waiting for the Americans who threatened to move to Canada when Obama was elected 8 years ago. Don't just make idle crybabyish threats like usual!

^I think in this instance, there will likely be a bloodbath and rioting regardless who wins.
I just hope it doesn't plunge the world into WWIII

Everyone especially gays should be afraid and should vote for Hillary. Think of Trump as a type of Hitler with no fucking brain and a finger on atomic weapons. My partner and I now live in Spain we voted by mail through democrats overseas weeks ago please vote. Hillary is not the lesser of two evils she can be the only choice Please vote.

America is filled with an amazing amount of dumb asses but he won't win. Civilized blue states will once agin save amerikadear americns.jpg

You should be afraid from now on..period. The divide is worse than it has ever been...and this is not going away....

In my eyes...a Trump supporter is dead to me.....I can't and won't forgive them for taking a look at the man and what he represents.....and his obvious similarities to Hitler..and then thinking "he is OK".....

The similarities are in your immigination. Trump is not well liked even among his supporters.

You keep telling yourself that....

He is loved by every bigot and racist and misogynist and xenophobe in America....and I will believe that anyone who votes for him belongs in one...probably all.. of those categories...because they do. They vote for him..they co-sign all of it.

Do you know anyone voting for him? Ask that person what he thinks of Trump. Probably something like; i don't really like him, but......

Don't really like him, but A HER?!?!?!

Her delicate man-hating constitution and things I've said without any evidence will ruin us all!

I trust the former bankrupt casino owner to run my country great again!

u guys are giving way too much credit to the office of president. the president is not a dictator. even if hillary lost there is a chance there would actually be less gridlock in congress compared to a clinton presidency. the only thing people should think about is the court, but democrats have been fighting that battle for 10 months and have nothing to show for it.

I'm finding myself scared and anxious. Is this the beginning of authoritarianism in America?

^ I know. I'm terrified at the moment.
I had KIDNEY CANCER in 2003. This election has been FAR more frightening to me than even CANCER was. I'm pretty sure nothing has frightened me more (other than rare momentary events that were threatening in real ways) than this since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. That is a HELL of a long time ago.

To be President of the United States is to be a figurehead, at best.
A figurehead who happens to be able to nominate replacements for ALL Supreme Court vacancies that occur, though...possibly with the help of a compliant Senate that slams them through.

The US Government is also set up so that if two of the three branches are the same party, the third branch (in this case the Judicial - Supreme Court at the top) can be changed over as well, to exact COMPLETE control of the government. All that are needed, are some vacancies. The Republicans would have a head start on that, because there is already a vacancy which the Republicans are steadfastly and UNCONSTITUTIONALLY (at least, as constitutional SUGGESTION goes) refusing to fill it. Trump/Pence want absolute reins on their picks, the most extreme possible, which WILL pass muster in the Senate if it stays Republican.

We would then have a president, a legislative branch, and a judicial branch, ALL controlled by the most Fascist political party currently anywhere in the Western world. Let the exterminations begin!

As far as moving to Canada, SaskGuy, if he gets in and I don't move to Canada, it won't be from lack of trying. I've made SERIOUS efforts already. Even, most recently, I made sure I looked around in Saint John NB to "see if I could live there." (I could, but the snow they get is HORRIFIC.) Unless I want to WORK FOR THE REST OF MY GODDAM LIFE, Windsor (Ontario) was made utterly impossible to move to, because I would have to bribe Ontario $3 MILLION. I just simply will never have close to that. New Brunswick has a similar bribery program but it was $100K or maybe $300K or something, and I can deal with that IF I MUST...I simply do NOT want to commit myself to continue working until I die.

So yes I'm serious about it, but it's CANADIAN LAWS which make it virtually impossible for me to end up in Canada. Perhaps under Justin Trudeau, some of this stuff might ease up to a degree??

I don't think gridlock is the worry when there's a republican congress and president

Maybe the military can form a junta and take over for a while.

I recommend....not....for we've had that experience in Greece from 1967/1974 with many unpleasant wounds left to fester.

There is an irony in that the Greek Junta was removed by the Greek Army fed up with a clique of paranoid generals insulting, and abusing their fellow army officers...all with the aid of some 20,000 military police officers to ensure compliance.

Interestingly enough the last of the Junta generals, Stylianos Pattakos died a couple of weeks ago, at 103 years of age.

We'd love to have you in Canada...but let us hope that your worries are unfounded and that Trump and Tumpism are dealt a real blow today.
