I relate to very few girls sexually actually. I have a theory, I was wondering on you peoples thoughts on it.

I think you might be right that repression could make people more sexually active and aware once they break free than they might otherwise be.

I wasn’t exactly repressed when young – but a very traditional Asian family - sex of any sort just wasn’t mentioned – I discovered masturbation on my own. The good side of never being taught anything about it was once I was in a position to have sex with other people (guys only till recently) – I’d never been taught to feel guilty about it either.

One of my Ozzie friends described some gay guys from countries like Malaysia and Indonesia that come to OZ (mostly like me to study) as “Corks out of a bottle”. Once they’re free of their repressive home culture – they tend to be way more uninhibited and wild than the Ozzie guys who’ve grown up in an atmosphere of tolerance and freedom.

I think the Internet may be a factor in this - in that even if the local socity has sexually repressive standards - knowledge about a whole range of sexual possibilities is only ever three or four clicks away.
